@@zephy936you might be right but I sincerely hope that someone talked to him about it afterwards (not that poor interviewer, I hope she didn’t have to interact with him any more than that) because it’s super important for him to learn that he was not being nice, just creepy. I’ve met a few people like that, one of whom became a good friend of mine. He wasn’t this creepy but he did act overly affectionate and it made me uncomfortable. I got up the nerve to mention it to him and explained that I hate being touched and need some personal space, and he was immediately understanding and apologetic and never got in my personal space again (and I noticed he was more mindful of personal space around our other friends too). Not everyone would have been so good about it- a lot of people would get defensive- but there’s a lot of genuinely good people who really don’t realize they come across a certain way, and will work to fix it if someone calls them on it. I myself am autistic and while no one has ever told me I’m creepy, they have occasionally mentioned a behavior that bothered them and it was extremely useful to me to know that so that I could change for the better. Tbh, no clue if Vin Diesel is the sort of person to try and change his behavior if he was called on it- all I know about him is this video- but hopefully he is. Also, just a friendly reminder for anyone reading this: if someone makes you uncomfortable, you don’t have to call them on it. If you think it might not be safe or if you are concerned that it may cause difficulties for you, please be careful and talk to a trusted person about it. I was able to talk to the person in this particular situation in a safe place (a classroom with only about nine students, one of whom was a friend to both of us already and helped me out) and was certain that I would not be in danger or anything, but if you aren’t sure about a situation, please prioritize your safety and wellbeing. Stay safe everyone

Of course, openly hitting on a woman and asking her out when you have a wife is disgusting, but doing it while she's working is so unprofessional. It's also presumptuous because who's to say that she's even interested? The poor interviewer is just trying to do her job, and he is putting her in a really awkward situation. If she flirts back, she a whore, a home-wrecker, or whatever else people will call her. If she expresses that she's not interested, then she's a bitch, a feminazi, blahhhhhhhhh. UGH!!

I just wanna go ahead and say that even if that reporter wasn't uncomfortable (she obviously was, oh my fucking god how is this even a debate, she looks and sounds incredibly uncomfortable and it's so obvious holy shit) it's STILL insanely inappropriate, because she cannot leave this workplace-now-turned-hostage situation, she needs to smile and say "thank you", she has no other choice but to try and stay professional because That's Her Job and she doesn't want to be fired, and I think a lot of people don't realize how violent that is

if you give someone a compliment and they say thank you and try to move the conversation forward don't keep riding that compliment. and don't flirt at someone's workplace. again, they cannot physically leave. you are limiting that person's options to say no.

@@randomtrucks thank you SO much for saying this. As a minimum wage waitress (who works somewhere with unflattering uniforms - which shouldn’t matter but it does) getting compliments at work is nice but when it becomes the ENTIRE conversation as I’m very obviously trying to push along and get their order so I can DO MY JOB is so incredibly frustrating. I cannot walk away - and I think most of the really aggressive creeps KNOW that, which is so, so much worse. But then if I get talked to by a manager because I was taking too long it sounds silly, like “oh they were complimenting me” - BUT LIKE, IN A WAY I COULDNT DO MY JOB OR LEAVE!!! Ugh, sorry for venting but I’m almost positive every worker will experience this harassment at least some point at their job and I hope it’s quick and as cringe-less as possible. Again, thank you for saying this.
