I never really had an interest in this movie and in some ways still don't see all the hubub. I came here for a scene I am doing with someone that wanted to perform this. Your statement resonates with me though. I don't know if I would say mostly but more like many of us. I think it's all too often we believe this lie of "love" in the modern sense and that there is some soulmate out there. I think the reality is this is not at all the case. I think it is more there are numerous people out there that we can be so compatible with that would care for us in a romantic sense. However, in a planet with 7 plus billion people on it and our lives being very small in what we do and where we go due to money and time, the odds are hard to come across them. Also, love as we know it today is only more a recent thing. Marriage and "love" was more of something that was to tie families and clans together to form alliances; and, in that sense the couples HAD to make it work to some degree for the sake of estates, alliances, money, and so on if not at least on the surface. That being said, it takes a lot for two people to come together. Hell, it's even a a lot for families to want to be in the same room with each other over extended periods of time because of our own issues; try getting two strangers together and you see how this is magnified. It is true though, as much as movies are fun, emotional, an escape, and take us away from our own lives, too many of us look to movies and cinema as though it is a real expression of the human life when in reality it is more of a fantasy than anything. Relationships and keeping people together takes A LOT of work and effort. Frankly, most people don't want to do any of that.

Sometimes you can love someone with absolute vulnerability, putting your heart on the line and knowing deep down they feel the same. But unfortunately for reasons outside of that loving connection the other person may simply not be able to be committed to you. Love is a mysterious, beautiful thing that expands past 2 people spending their lives together. But fighting for love will always be a heroic thing. Not for the other person but because you showed yourself that you are capable of loving and being vulnerable without fear of the outcome. This then becomes a tool you can use in all aspects of your life. 💖🌻

This is what love looks like! The thing with Allie is she was confused as to what to do because for 7 years she went on thinking he forgot about her and lived her life with her parents planning her every move so for her to make a decision that wasn't apart of "the plan" was hard for her. But in the end she had to choose what would make her happy and although Noah didn't have a ton of money he wasn't broke and they weren't going to be living in a shack, he build a beautiful home. She made a decision for herself that didn't include her parents for once in her life and mainly because she saw the loveless marriage her parents had and she wanted more than money!

I had a relationship like this once. Five years together, we broke up, we met 3 years later and we tried it again. It was exhausting. Fighting all the time, even when you're being honest and saying over and over again "i wanna be with you" kills you a little bit everyday. You never know where you are standing with each other, you never go to bed truly sure if you're gonna be loved tomorrow. Sometimes you just gotta let go.

@alondragarcia38403 жыл бұрын
Not unrealistic. :) These types of relationships and fights are very real and raw. And when you find the one, they'll always fight for you and vice versa. You'll fight, seek forgiveness, and then love each other endlessly. It comes naturally. Your head may say head out but your heart tells you to stay. Its commitment ❤️when you find the one they'll never give up on you, you'll know it. Its rare. So hold onto it when it comes ❤️

I may cry every time I watch this movie but Norah makes a good point. Life isn’t easy for anyone. It’s hard, we have to make hard choices and face the hard times that may or may not happen but if someone is Will to be there for you through those bad times and good that is a man worth keeping. And Ally NEEDS to understand that she is a person. Not a thing that has to obey, or sacrifice everything just to everyone around her happy. It isn’t a sin to want something or someone. But it has to be something that YOU WANT enough.

@@arabellastringer3788 If you saw the film, she didn't marry him. She chose Noah ON HER OWN. You can tell even she had doubts about marrying James Marsden's character, because he was the paragon of what her parents wanted for her, but not Allie. I do appreciate that they didn't have him be like Cal from Titanic and by making him a controlling narcissist who wanted to break Allie. He was genuinely a good dude, but he was very understanding and I appreciate that from the writer.

The misconception about love is there will be no arguments, just peace or there will be no peace just hurt. The people we love the most are capable of pissing us off more than anyone but true love is knowing when to draw the line. Real love ! My grandmothers mom kept letters from her. It changed her life - she married a hardworking, family oriented man when she assumed the man she truly loved was ignoring her. When in reality the man she loved wrote many letters that she never got to see. When my grandmothers mother passed away, my grandmother was able to see the letters but by that point she was married with 3 children. She valued her family unit but she and my grandfather slept in separate beds due to lack of intimacy. Makes me sad she never got to read those precious letters in real-time. I don’t think I’d be here if she had but it makes you wonder.

This scene makes me cry every time I watch it, because it’s been my life for the past 8 years. I met an online boy when I was a teenager, but we came from different social statuses like Allie & Noah. My family was filthy rich and privileged, and my Noah’s family had a hard life financially and emotionally. I loved him for years, but we never dated due to my parents not approving the relationship and our insecurities. We tried to stay best friends so many times, but it never worked out and we’d just explode into massive fights. We dated other people after the summer I turned 17, and the timing was off for years. He waited for me for weeks, but I stayed in my high school relationship and he allegedly moved on. A year later, we reunited again and the love for one another was rekindled. My abusive parents were no longer in my life anymore. I thought we’d end up together this time, but we got into another fight and left. I felt like Allie in this scene: “no matter what I do somebody gets hurt.” My family didn’t approve of our love, and my Noah couldn’t imagine us being without each other. We left each other AGAIN for another year. I waited months for him to come back to me after I pushed him away, but he ended up allegedly falling in love with somebody else. When I discovered he found someone else, I decided to move on and date another guy for a year. My Noah and his new girl dated for a year and a half. The entire time we were in serious relationships with other people, we were thinking of each other. I ended up leaving the states going to London, and I couldn’t stop thinking about my Noah. Coincidentally he contacted me on Instagram (about two years after we last talked) and we kept in contact with each other... eventually leading us to cheating on our exes like the movie Allie & Noah did. We did not mean to, but it happened. After that set of nights we eventually decided to leave them and truly be together. We have been officially dating for nearly three months now after 8 LONG years. To me, that is love. It is messy, but it’s love. I can not be with anyone else-I’ve tried and it hasn’t worked. I am his, and he is mine. We are getting married after I recover from COVID-19 ❤️

I once loved someone like this, and he loved me like this. And our love survived a great deal of obstacles, such as distance time and everything that was trying to tear us apart. And we had old pictures of each other, saved messages, engraved memories in our hearts of memories and emotions that we held onto when life would separate us yet again. Our love survived storms I’d say, then one day we outgrew each other and the love we once felt became a distant memory. People change, and so does their love. That’s the reality of it, that’s real life.
