Bomani is the best combination of intelligence and diligence in the biz. Other smart guys don’t watch the games. Other hard working guys just don’t have the intellectual horsepower. He has both AND has been a Nuggets admirer for a long time. Keep it up man …

Nikola Jokić transcends being a basketball player - he embodies basketball itself. He encapsulates the essence of the game as a whole, rather than being defined by individual statistical categories. He represents something unprecedented, as his style of play epitomizes the very core of basketball. The MrMac

The Monty move is a great look for the pistons. I know basketball, especially the Pistons, isn't something you guys focus on at all really, but this is good for everybody involved. Monty is loved by the majority of the league, he can bring in a culture for a team that's been lacking that for a while now. (Yes, Casey was there, but unfortunately for his career, he was there to try to develop guys and LOSE, especially last year, which is why they let him get that front office job.) I think Monty can also help attract some Vets to come and play with the pistons young talent. He is one of the better coach's in the league and by far the best one of the guys to choose from right now and worth that money for Gores. To add, the relationship that made this happen was Monty and the pistons GM, Troy Weaver, who were in OKC at the same time back in the day.

ESPN should advertise this podcast and KZbin simulcast more. I'm a huge Bomani Jones fan and have only found out he is still with ESPN on June 4th 2023. I'm sure that it's advertised some and I missed it. However, I watch enough youtube, sports, ESPN, ESPN+, listen to enough podcasts, and read enough sports stories (including about sports media and ESPN) that I should have had his presence at ESPN beaten in to my head. I am aware about Pat McAfee coming to ESPN and excited for it. I know of all the shows Stephen A has and how much he reportedly gets paid for them. I'm sure I will soon know what ESPN offers Shannon Sharpe to join the mothership. Bomani is just as talented as any of those people and deserves to have his audience know where to find him. And as long as Mr Jones is willing his audience deserves to know where to find him. It's not that hard to do. HBO pulled it off. I've known they employed him and where and when to find his show there. It wouldn't take an expensive press run. Pretty sure running ads for your own product on your own networks is free. Ive complained and ranted enough. I just really think Bomani deserves better.

Denver's size is an incredible factor and one that is not easy to adjust against. They have 3 starters that are bigger than Bam! At least 2 Denver players will always have a physical mismatch and Jokic is gonna find them on every single possession.

The comparison to Lebron is perfect in terms of his court vision and his basketball intellect. The other thing that separates them from everyone else in the league is their ability to throw a pass over or threw a double team to a shooter ON TIME and ON TARGET. You watch harden or tre young or even curry, or bigger guys like kawhi, PG, or Luka throw those types of passes and they are often at a shooters feet or off target slightly which makes the shot sooo much more difficult. Korver talked about this on a pod once. He was like Lebron would hit you on time in YOUR pocket where you want it with seems or without. Jokic has that similar ability, not to lebron’s level in terms of on time and on target to shooters across court. But, the absolute closest I’ve seen. Jokic can only be appreciated by watching the dude play a series of games and seeing a team play this dude 4-7 times and remain completely flummoxed by him.

Jokic something else.. this nuggets team is young and all on long term contracts. We could see 3/4 more in a row. Idk what team can compete. Maybe Boston with a new coach and a couple additional players? Maybe the suns find a way to fight off Father Time and steal one? I doubt it. The run way it wide open for a nuggets dynasty.

The reason why "Nuggets aren't that interesting" is more than what you pointed out, is the fact they are from Denver, were they from let's say San Francisco (since you used the Warriors as an example) the story woul be different, Denver ain't a media sexy city.

Butler ‘shows up when it counts’? Isn’t the KEY element that characterized being a PROFESSIONAL, is knowing that it ALWAYS counts, and therefore, showing up? He has far too many bad games, and that is because he is not nearly as good as advertised. It’s all media hype because the NBA needs stars so they try to force them. Butler is not that good. He shows it, time and time again. Gordon shut him down like nothing. So did Tatum and Brown for three straight games. He is overrated.
