My dad was 6'4 and my mom was 5'7. My brother did make 6', but my sister and I were both shorter than our mom. We had a good diet while growing up, but we were all bottle fed babies, and our mom smoked while pregnant (in the 60s), and was addicted to sugar. I believe that is the explanation.

You do however carry the tall genes from both of your parents and I bet your offsprings and your sister's children will no doubt in my mind be taller. Smoking suppresses cell growth and that says it all.

I believe genetics and life style plays a big role in growing tall. My mother is 5’3 and my father is 5’11 and I’m only 5’7 while my younger brother is 6’3. I’m in my late 30s now so it’s no longer possible for me to grow taller unless I have height surgery. What I regret when I was a kid and teenager is I didn’t eat a lot, didn’t exercise, played video games a lot not getting enough sleep. My brother on the other hand joined many sport clubs, ate and slept a lot. I wish I could go back in time and fix what I missed.

_"I wish I could go back in time and fix what I missed."_ this is first time I've ever seen people share this sentiment under videos on height growth, and me being 5'11 (no shoes), same honestly. im fully East Asian and while my race isn't "short" especially when compared with latinos or other asians, it kind of _is_ in the west. My dad was taller than average of my race, therefore I am taller than most asians. But i made the same mistakes u made, and because of that I COULD have been at the same height or slightly taller, like 6'1 or more, than quite a few white people. im 21 now so I _may_ have a tiny chance at growth left if I really try, but im not placing any bets.

But I hated real food when I was a kid, didn't like proteins and fat so I ate mostly carbs, including unhealthy ones (chocolate). My brother ate the right way (protein and fat - eggs, meat, cheese and also vegetables) and grew tall. When I was in med school, 20 years ago, we learned the eternal BS : for everything that's not how it's supposed to be - the reason was "Genetics" (the magic word that concealed ignorance) and "idiopathic" (unknown cause). Today I know better.

@iggydc8034 What genes? We have the same parents, same grandparents. I studied Genetics at med school and never heard of any genes determining how tall you'll be. I repeat, anything out of what's expected is because of "genetics", even if you share the same genes. And if that explanation fails, then we're blaming "genetic mutations" (which are a very small percentage as cause for small unexpected differences, especially height). My info doesn't come from Google and irrelevant and poorly conducted studies, but from studying biochemistry, physiology, physiopathology, cellular and molecular biology (from books, not from youtube or google search). But I guess today everyone on youtube is a "scientist" or an "expert".

I believe craniofacial dystrophy stunts growth as well. The pituitary gland is located in the sella turcica, which is attached to the sphenoid bone of the skull. The sphenoid articulates with 12 of the 22 bones in the skull (including the maxilla). So if you have craniofacial dystrophy it is not unreasonable to think that it could affect the pituitary gland in some way. I'm 6'1 but my dad is 6'5. I was a very stressed and hyperactive child which I'm convinced was caused by the craniofacial dystrophy, and the cranial strain from birth trauma. I also starved myself between age 17-19 to lose weight during my final growth spurt. I believe if you want to maximize growth you should follow the method of Rustam Akhmetov paired with the info in this video. Rustam went from 5'4 to 6'1 between age 15-17 by doing constant hanging, jumping, stretching, swimming, basketball and sleeping with resistance bands every night. His parents were really short , can't remember their heights but they were both under 5'3. Vitamin A is also important.

5’5” is average height for a woman, and tall brothers doesn’t mean you, as a woman, also have to also be tall - a lot of the time women with tall brothers still end up either average or short height (my mother was one of those, at around 5’4”, with 4 brothers who all look like they’re around the 6’ ft area). Women just rarely end up tall like their tall male siblings, unless BOTH of their parents were freakishly tall (I’m talking like a mother who’s 6’2” and a father who’s a few inches taller than that).

00:00 🌱 Micronutrient deficiency can impact growth, and malnutrition during crucial development years may lead to stunted growth. 01:07 🍲 Essential nutrients like iodine and zinc play a role in cognitive function and height; zinc deficiency, common in diets heavy on grains, can affect growth. 02:29 🏋 Growth hormone, vital for growth in children, is stimulated by amino acids; inadequate protein, high sugar, and insulin resistance can diminish growth hormone levels. 03:25 🚸 Zinc deficiency is prevalent in areas with diets high in phytic acid (found in rice, corn, etc.), impacting the immune system; stress, sugar, and junk food can contribute to zinc deficiency. 04:18 ☀ Vitamin D deficiency is common due to limited sun exposure, poor diet, and gut inflammation; it influences growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor (IGF-1). 04:44 💊 Supporting the pituitary gland is crucial for growth; a product like "Pituitrophin PMG" may be beneficial for optimizing a child's growth potential.

When looking at the top ten countries with the lowest meat consumption, none of them have their *average* male population reach the *average* US height of 5'9". Animal protein consumption and availability has generational consequences.

Animal protein seems to work best with the appropriate lifestyle because based on my experience, I was the one who consumed lots of animal protein growing up, yet I still remained the shortest. I think eating meat with lots of grains (white rice), I played sports but lacked enough sleep, and being under stress all the time were the factors which stunted my growth. When I started eating more veggies & doubled the amount of what I used to eat, got myself homeschooled to lessen stress from regular schooling, and sleeping more, I gained a bit of weight but grew 2 inches (still shortest tho) The ones who didn’t eat meat or anything that much, and who were also the most relaxed and laziest, were the tallest in my family.

Now, if people can understand when you get a new puppy, especially a large breed dog, they wanna feed the puppy really well and enough so they can get that big beautiful dog, healthy and string their after. If they only adopted that same concept in their own lives and restricted themselves from eating the kitchen sink like they wouldn't allow their dog. Or giving a dog chocolate because it's toxic, so most people don't. Imagine people flipping this on themselves where'd we all be today.

My mother practically raised me on sugar. Oh wow, the sweets, the cakes, the biscuits, the fizzy drinks and ice creams. I cringe when I think of my diet back then, which started with that cursed Rose Hip Syrup (amazingly, that wretched stuff made its way back onto the UK market a few years ago. It should be banned outright, everywhere). And then there were the carbohydrates. I was addicted to bread, loved it. I can eat a whole 800g loaf on my own in a day, no marg, no butter, no sandwich fillings required at all, no problem. The meat we did have was cheap nasty stuff, pre-made pies, sausages, hot dogs, burgers. I hate all that kind of stuff. I went vegetarian at 14. My height ended up a pathetic 5ft 2". My sister is 4ft 11". Our teeth are terrible. I suffer back and joint issues. My eyes are the weakest in my family. I suspect I will go blind eventually. My cousins, every single one of them are tall, graceful, willowy beauties with white teeth, no vision problems, and sound bodies. They were not raised on high sugar diets. One of my cousins only had sugar once a year when her parents would buy her an Easter egg. She had teeth like pearls, mine look like a WW1 battlefield. Prospective parents should be properly educated on how to care for children's teeth 'before' baby turns up. I gave my son no sweet stuff when he was young (other than birthday cake) and instead of a teething ring, I bought him a baby toothbrush (which he much preferred and gave him better relief) under supervision. He is 28 now and never had a filling. He's also tall, but a little overweight on account of eating too much of the wrong thing (I'm working on it).
