Thank you Ryan for yet again putting into words what many of us are searching for. It’s unfortunate that the lessons of Marcus Aurelius are now considered obscure reading which in turn has me here on KZbin studying and listening instead.

It is not obscure.

My favorite part of this video is the TV that is presumably his teleprompter is sitting in a bog standard guitar stand and that's humorous....

This book is highly insightful, and dear I say stoic. Much love to Ryan Holiday. I posted a book review video of The Obstacle Is The Way on my channel too. Hope you guys check it out!

To be quite honest, this guy does have a lot of knowledge but I don't really think he's very likable or lovable and it confirmed when he left the stage after the speech like he's been holding his pee. Voice, accent, body language .. nothing seems loving

Absolutely agree

I noticed the same too... A bit strange

I think he was short on time - having to basically compress his whole book into a 12 minute speech. I think he could have cut down on some anecdotes and give his words breathing room.

Maybe he has to pee...

People that hold their pee are worth loving too! All pee matters!

I know it's only a short talk but in no way did he connect Rockerfeller's success with the market failures. He just said they were associated but now HOW. Point NOT proven. Risking stop-viewing.

Agreed, but I would say the video as a whole is great. Everyone makes mistakes.

he has other talks where he goes more in depth about jonh d rockerfeller

I don’t think how is actually the point. We can logically deduce many different ways he could take advantage of that situation, the concept of controlling your perception of any situation is still conveyed. The way I like to put it is that every situation or context is neither good nor bad but is inherently neutral. We apply “good” or “bad” to said circumstance based on our own perceptive state which we have control over, thus making it a choice. Just my opinion thanks for reading :)

I love this guy, but he should take his stoicism to the gym as well.
