THE OFFER interview: Matthew Goode about what he really thinks about "The Godfather"

I had the chance to ask ONE question to Matthew Goode (who plays Robert Evans), during a round table interview, prior to the April 29 premiere of The Offer at Paramount+.

I've been watching The Offer and was very impressed with the actor playing Bob Evans, especially after seeing interviews with the real Bob Evans. Now hearing Matthew Goode's real voice I am even more impressed!

Gawd! Last episode 9 was like a roller coaster ride! I was sad, crying, cheering , angry but it was a beautiful performance by Mathew Goode! Spot on casting really! The greatest performance of any character actor in TV history in the past 40 years. Pure genius. He was Mr Hollywood of the 70s. The gestures posture accent....emotional breadth of character. Goode is a great actor. Sad he doesnt get that many good movie scripts to match his talent.

If you saw the documentary «The kid stays in the picture» about the life of Robert Evans you have to agree that Matthew Goode is doing a fabulous Bob Evans (the voice, the look, the cool attitude). Saw the 4 episodes (so far) of «The Offer» and it’s amazing!!!

Its awfully sad these days that when an actor gets a call from an agent, their first instinct is to assume they are being cancelled for something they said, rather than being told your getting an award winning part cast

I grew up being a huge fan of SCTV in the early 80s. There was an entertainment journalist played by Martin Short named Brock Linehan. I was on KZbin and came across a late 70s interview by Brian Linehan of Robert Evans. I saw exactly who Short was portraying when I saw it for the first time. Brilliant work by Martin Short, we just do not get comedy like that any longer.

JB...you need to work on speaking. It takes you 15 seconds to say something that should take 4 seconds. The Hugh Grant bumbling isn't cute and for an interviewer, it's a hindrance. But in the age of the internet, anyone can be a "star".
