Personally season 8 was the only real miss for me. I liked that all of season 9 was dedicated to finalising the show. The Jim/Pam arc, The Angela/Oscar/Senator/Dwight arc, Erin/Pete/Andy arc, they were all done pretty perfectly as they weren’t rushed and spread out in a way that gave us all closure when the last few episodes hit. Best show and best ending.

Half of season 8 was great, most of season 9 was terrible. They added too many new people and tried to be overly funny in the last season, without all of the Schrute Farms episodes and Dwight's wedding, that whole season would have been terrible. Season 8 had a lot of really good episodes.

I have been watching the series for the first time and it is great. With the second and third seasons i was diying of laughings literal. Season 8 was a rollercoaster between good a terrible bad episodes, the new aditions to the cast didn´t work. In the 9th season is getting better... I still have 7 episodes ahead to finish it.

Dwight has been the top salesman for years, was assistent regional manager and obviously knew how to lead a group way better than Andy did. Dwight should've been manager after Michael. He's also the only character that even came remotely close to Michael's humour

I've just watch the office on Netflix, and when Michael left , I was the same , I stopped watching, and only watched the very last ending episode, and was quite disappointed that Michael didn't have big role at the end , when they were doing the panel question and answers from the Audience, and the very last seen as well when cast left the office for the last time . They definitely missed the mark.

So when he came back, the show was wraapping up and there not have been enough time to help him reach his arc.

Yup. As much as I loved everyone, Steve was the magical glue. He's a special human being, just has that charisma. Those eyes that tear up without apology, that smile, juat a truly touching person. It was a brilliant run, glad we got the gift of experiencing it. Kinda like Golden Girls or The Cosby Show. It was a way for us to connect.

I watched all 9 seasons within a couple of weeks. Steve is missed but some of what they do works really well starting with the back half of season 8 (or slightly earlier). Of course it has to be enjoyed for what it is and not hated for what it isnt and that is the nostalgia would of Steve not bieng in the pattern.

But it wasn't because of money. After an interview where Steve by mistake said that he might not continue in the 8th season, nobody cared to ask him to stay in the show. So the message for him was clear: nobody at the management cared about his character and his work on the show. So he left.

Tbh I did not mind Steve leaving the show that much. Sure it felt different but I liked all the new cast members that were added later on as well. I think they did a great job in filling in the gap he left behind. I just yesterday finished season 9 and I loved it very much. Just a fantastic show over all :)

This is a unpopular opinion but I kinda like the way it played out. Yes Micheal was SO iconic and it’s different without him but at the same time watching the rest of the cast grow up was important too and it was like seeing how the kids turn out after they leave the nest (or in this case, the father, Micheal, leaves). Yes manager Andy was cringey and Robert California and sabre and Gabe, but we really got more insight into characters after Micheal left that we didn’t get before because it was so focused on him finding his way. He finally became happy, but what about the rest of them, how do their stories end? In my opinion it played out the right way and ended so strong with no loose ends.

The Office should have been more popular, it is so good. Like I know in the US it's a big hit, but wordwide it never was. For example I've never heard of it until recently, because in Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic it never was popular. I think they did not even dubbed all the 9 seasons just a couple but never saw it on tv anyways, which is sad.

I'm from Eastern Europe as well and yeah that's true. I've honestly heard of it a few years now, but I never actually got to watch it until last year. I think a lot of people who have access to the internet at least vaguely know about it because of the massive impact it had on meme culture lol. But you're right, I never ever actually saw it on any national TV channel. Stuff like Friends or Seinfeld get almost constant re-runs though. I feel like it's popularity outside the US has considerably grown over the last 2 years at the very least, however. Wasn't it reported as the most streamed comedy show of 2020? Either way, I'm happy to hear more people and more people appreciating it tbh, it's really become my favourite sitcom. Or maybe even my favourite show in general.

I also saw some memes with Steve Carell's Michael character but since I never heard anything about the show from my peers I did not bother to search for it on the internet. Friends was constantly played on many TV channels, also Desperate Housewives, Bones, CSI, NCIS, Two and a half men... Now that I finished the whole Office I started to recommending it to my friends and people around me :D I need to talk about it more, just as I do with Friends♡
