I actually liked the first Fantastic Beast’s Film. It was a fun spinoff about a guy with magic suitcase that collects magical creatures. For some reason they decided to make it the next Harry Potter, and failed miserably. I swear Newt is just some random guy, I don’t know why he specifically has to save the world or something.

Like you said only in TFA promos and in TFA he wielded it, but by the end Rey is the one who is force sensitive off to find luke, not finn. Have no clue who the fuck jacob is. Finn was never going to be a jedi, rey was always going to be the jedi, its been like that since lucas began brainstorming the sequels in like 2010.

The movie was so bad. What I didn’t like about grendelwalds character is that at the end of the 2nd movie, he states he doesn’t hate muggles and that he sees worth in them. That they can live aside them. Then randomly in the 3rd he “hates” them and wants to kill them all. Like what??? They didn’t only change the look of the character but also his entire morals. They shit the bed on this one.

1. Halo's story isn't designed for tv. 2. 20 years ago a Halo live action movie would probably blow everyone's mind. Nowadays there are so many high budget sci fi shows on streaming services. The time for Halo live action is long past.

The only thing I liked about the new Fantastic Beasts movie was Mads Mikkelsen as Grindelwald, and Jude Law as Dumbledore. They have good chemistry and I can see them being lovers once upon a time. That being said I hate what they did to Grindelwald. He's gone from "I see non magical people as different, not lesser" to "Can you smell it? Their stench". He's just Voldemort again who wants to keep magical blood pure. Mads was great as Grindelwald but the writing for his character is just straight weird

Seems like Secrets of Dumbledore would have been better if one of the beasts had a magic granting ability or when it dies it transfers it's magic to whoever it bonded with. Then Jacob could have become magic, won the presidency, annulled the ancient law forbidding Magic/Muggle relationship (then maybe resigned after ending the law) and stopped Grindelwalds plans. It sounds like a mess of a movie though with no real direction

Someone in the comments for the release of SoD on Reddit made a good point. They could’ve easily had two-three franchises running concurrently. Instead, they have multiple plots running in a franchise that wasn’t meant for them. The main focus of Fantastic Beasts… was Fantastic Beasts…. And that got punted to the side pretty quickly. First one was decent, I smelled smoke so I stayed away from the second and it looks like I chose correctly, seeing how SoD missed the plot, completely. Isn’t there supposed to be 5 of these damn movies?

Highly recommend Halo Forward Unto Dawn if anyone wants some good halo to watch, action doesn't start until near the end but it's good. It's mostly focused on Lasky and other cadets but chief shows up and is an absolute badass, no helmet removal as well.

It would get shot so full of holes by any defense lawyer that it would effectively be a benefit to him. I remember years ago a "friend" was going on about how Fantastic Beasts is gonna be a greater franchise than Harry Potter (this was when the first one just came out) and her main reasons were that the special effects are better and that it focuses on the beasts more than spells. I only watched bits and pieces of the first one and from Charlie's rant I can see it was a good choice for me to not give it a chance. It's a shame. I actually liked the first movie. Newt had some depth, the characters were interesting and played off of each other pretty well, the worldbuilding was nice, the story was pretty good except for like 1 or 2 bits. Overall fun. I didn't know JK was a transphobe at the time, so I genuinely enjoyed myself. And then I learned she was a transphobe, so there went my respect. And then I got dragged to the second movie, which was really bad. Just kind of lame. The story was boring and sleepy with occassional moments of okayness and slightly more moments of TRUE awfulness, the characters felt either like hollow shells of themselves or just WILDLY out of character. Just ... just abysmal. My parents said this movie was good. I was skeptical. Audiences liked it, but critics were less kind. I'm glad the critics were not just right, but even merciful to it. It sounds like if you turn your brain off, you might be tricked into thinking it's a good movie, but it's not, GOD, it's so not. In my mind, the original is just a one-off story and that's it. That's the end of it. Rest in pieces JK's shitty attempts to make this a franchise. I will not care about this anymore. Thank you, Charlie, for telling me not to watch this one either.

i feel like im the only one in the world who actually enjoyed this movie. So this movie is basically the beginning to a duel of dumbledore and grindlewald kinda of like the beginning of harry potter vs voldemort. The music choice and cgi was great in the movie but another thing I didnt like was the revelence of Ariana being an obscurus and her death in a casual conversation. Another thing that bothered me was..."where did nagini go?" Surely there wouldve been an end credit scene with her ot grindlewald but nah. But other than that the fight, the acting, and music is what made it enjoyable for me.

That's crazy, this is the first time I completely disagree with the majority on this one. Secrets of dumbledore was a fantastic movie. It literally has one of the best fight scenes EVER, although short. The story was a fun journey that made me care about the characters the whole way through, and adds so much lore to the already amazing ww universe. Some parts did break cannon but that's really easy to over look. Especially if your not a fan of the wizarding world. Hot take I guess.

Also, another thing about tv i can't stand; when it's clear nobody important is going to die. The best stories leave you in suspense, questioning who will die, and who will live... that's why I like the starwars prequels (Yes, yes, hate all you want) and the anakin parts are really ass, but when quigon died, and then darthmaul died, and then the jedi at the last stand on genosis died, and then windu died, and then the jedi at the temple died, and then anakin died (spiritually), It was gripping.

1. So the second movie give you the run down on why queen's joins grindlwald. Grindlwald is ok with muggers as lessers not equals so his pitch to queenie is she can keep Jacob as like a pet. The rule only exists in America though, because haha America is racist, which is part of the first movie. I'd say this is the movies fault, and it is, but it's also not new to Harry Potter movies in general as the previous movies, especially the latter ones, depended heavily on this anthological knowledge. 2. The blood curse was broken through a paradox. He didn't intend to kill or harm Dumbledore, but put him in harms way anyways. The writers probably thought they were making a clever analogy to like both acknowledging they would forever ideologically be at odds and therefore didn't love each other anymore.
