I'm starting to watch this podcast weekly more and more. I personally have fell away from Trash Taste which was a podcast I loved tons but you guys are far more interesting cause you cover a lot of relevant topics so its easy to be super entertaining and the reason Trash Taste ran out of stuff to say was cause they barely did some current topics or if they did, its a case of when they recorded an episode where they say its relevant news but due to their schedule its 3 weeks old. And so thats why I have been getting into this podcast a lot more. I used to watch Offical pod occasionally but when one podcast turns to crap, you gotta go elsewhere I suppose. I found this show in 2020 or close to when I properly got into moist critical properly and have listened to old and new episodes. Both are as good because of your guys funny arguments and different perspectives. Its rare for Jackson, Kaya, Charlie and Andrew to always agree and thats what sets it apart from podcasts like Trash taste where ironically enough they ended up turning their show into heated arguments but cause they record so much content even outside their podcast it has made it less easy for them to innovate their show beyond 150 episodes or so to have some heated discussions to keep viewers engaged and they drifted away from relatabilty and banked off the success of their La tour to have filler episodes with guests repeating the same takes and agreeing so much. So that's my reasoning as to why I personally enjoy this podcast based off my decreasd investment in another podcast overtime. 2020-2022 was the best Trash Taste ever gotten Side note: This doesnt relate to the topics of this episode, I just felt like commenting this.

Regarding the murderer thing is that the media is also a lot more widespread, so everything that happens gets reported and everyone sees it regardless how far away it is from theyre part of the country. Back 50 or so years ago a lot of news outlets were more local. Also im glad the only time ive seen a dead body was at my great grandmas funeral and im glad that it just looked like she was sleeping but it was surreal nonetheless

I agree with Andrew on Bethesda games. While they can be fun at times, they are pretty janky. I liked New Vegas and Skyrim, but the game engine they use really needed an overhaul. Instead, Bethesda depends on the modding community to fix their own messes and bring them up to the quality they should have been when they were released.

@@starfoxcm I'm well aware of that. It still uses Bethesda's jank engine, but I still enjoyed it. People who enjoy their games do so despite how poorly put together the games are. When the best game in your series(of the 3d fallouts) is developed by an outside developer, people might not believe the hype you're trying to build for your next game.

I agree with Andrew with Bethesda games but I think he poorly argues it (probably bc he’s just basing it on memory). I think the best part of bethesda games is that you can mod everything you want into it which makes them fun. Vanilla skyrim is boring af but when you mod in all the shit you wish was in the game it makes it amazing. At least that’s my experience.

My prediction for starfield is it'll be a buggy mess just like every other creation engine game, the modding community is already working on a day one patch because bethesda never fixes them If it's a good game like skyrim / fallout 3/4/nv people will overlook the bugs, and if it's a bad game like 76 it'll flop
@Spealer Жыл бұрын
Fair guess, I personally think it will have the least bugs from any one of their games, but thats not saying much haha, it will have still a Toooon of bugs. For me as long as they are not game breaking / story blocking I don't really have an issue with many.

I'm pretty sure 76 was the only unfinished broken game at release. Whether or not the combat system is good enough for you is pretty personal opinion territory. But it is undeniable that the world the games take place in are usually one of the most in-depth open worlds with a lot of worthwhile stories and things to do and characters to talk to.

@Sage3635K Жыл бұрын
@@minecraftjunky2001Boy you must be outta your damn fuckin mind if you serously believe not a thing was wrong with Skyrim. The game was so broken that not only would it crash very often (and it still does) but also became a popular meme because of the sheer amounts of bugs it had. Like, a goddamn bee would fly in front of the cart in the intro and cause the cart to be launched into the stratosphere. Just one example from a loooong list. Every single damn faction in the game is the exact same but with a different colour, with the guild being in shambles, you doing 2 special jobs, the leader dying, and you becoming guildmaster. It goes on and on. I know you love skyrim, but nostalgia is one hell of a drug and you're high as hell

Andrews whole argument was “What was fun about it?” That’s it. Lmfao. You could name off 100 reasons why it’s fun and he would say “what’s fun about that?”
Fallout 3 is boring. NV is only good because the factions carry it. 4 is fun at first but but the time you're level 40 it's so boring. 76 is ok but it's 100% carried by co-op and PvP.

At the time of its release, there were detractors because Bethesda bought Fallout and changed a lot of things about the franchise, some for the worse. Over time they won over new fans (and lost them with '76 lol), but not everyone loved Fallout 3. I love it, but even I can see its flaws and can understand why some people, esp. OG fallout fans, did not.

Thank you hugbee, thank you for saying all of the things that every Bethesda fan, who's ever enjoyed anything of quality whatsoever, has had lurking in the back of their head... but will never allow to choke up forward. Bethesda is the company that wrote dialogue so bad, Patrick Stewart couldn't even pull it off.. and if more people would at least actually process this in some sort of objective reality.. perhaps Bethesda might try to improve on that? but how would they know because people keep talking about them like they're brilliance storytellers.. Sure they used to be, daggerfall is one of the best interactive mediums ever written.. but those people don't work at Bethesda and they haven't, I I think since Morrowind.. I think some of them left before Morrowind but pretty much all of them had left by Oblivion.. and you can kind of tell.. on account of it having some of the worst dialogue in character interactions and narrative beats of even the low standards back then. Like I get why people wax on about certain titles.. a lot of them came out at formative years.. and they didn't know any better and they're stuck and part of their identity and that's part of The branding now with gaming. I just remember when it was announced that Bethesda was going to do a fallout game, and sitting there being like wait what!?! Why would they even want to do that? This is a game series that is at its core, centered around dialogue character and story interactions.. some of the best in video games.. Bethesda are quite literally some of the worst.. like in an actively they're the worst way, not like they just couldn't get everything together to make it work. man I can just imagine the thought process going through the original devs as they were trying to get their IP back, and they realized they were fighting with Bethesda over the rights for it.. just like.. how is this happening right now..? and it turns out they made exactly the kind of fallout game that a Bethesda studios was going to make.. where they just basically missed the entire point, but we're really happy to drive home all those cool themes and fragments of of themes that people remembered and liked and people remember liking because.. you're supposed to like them cuz they're they're from like something that was like old and likable.. Hopefully I don't accidentally delete this, before posting this time because it keeps getting longer every time I have to rewrite it... I am absolutely rooting for them though I want them to be good, more importantly I want this to be good.. if there was a good game that was like this, like starfield is trying to be.. that that's that's amazing that would be amazing game.. but Bethesda.. are so bad at character and dialogue interactions in their world building.. that you can't even just exist in that world and do your own thing without getting touched by how utterly artificial the entire structure that's supposed to engage you beyond the mechanical is. So yeah, yours actually the first higher profile person that I've ever heard say this out loud.. even people like indigo, I mean they said a lot of it.. but they danced around the core conceit.. whereas you just straight up set it out loud in front of people and when they challenged you you were ready.. My god I've been waiting for something like that to happen.. and this is relatively new so maybe it'll actually have an effect although I doubt it.. that being said.. it's it's nice to see blind Faith arguments just fall flat in the face of anybody going further past the first line of a thought process of a memory.. good for you buddy.. suppose it's bad for everybody else though that the biggest problem people seem to have with Bethesda is when they don't even release a semi-finished product. Not all the other things which are features somehow.. I really wish I could just bypass reality to create my own like it seems like people that really enjoy those games are doing.. I would I would I would have so much more fun in life.
