The story of the Maeorus assassins is still my favorite. Created 1 single assassin, which was effectively 40k Alex Mercer. Fought off, I kid you not, 1 squad of first company vet astartes, 1 squad of Assault marines, a captain from the Imperial Fists, and a master Callexus assassin. All the while dodging bullets from a grand master Vindicare assassin. Fell to the Captain's Thunder Hammer.....eventually....after it had laid a number of eggs out amongst the cosmos.

Never ever have I seen an episode on Malcador the Sigillite, and I pray to the God Emperor that somebody would cover him properly. The dude sounds badass and I belive there are a lot of interesting things that can be covered - his relationship with the Empror, Unification Wars and other things they have been through, what Malcador has created in the Imperium, that one time when he almsot checked Horus to death and much more.

Majorkill has made a video on this. It was one marine and one Eversor, with the Eversor having personal beef with the grandmaster, so she managed to overwrite her objective just enough to freeze up. If it had been any other Eversor, all the marines would have been killed. The marines did also have numbers advantage... so yeah, Eversor are still marine-killers.

The Siege of Vraks was caused by the failure of a Vindicator Assassin to kill Apostate Cardinal-Astra Xaphan. He hit his target but Xaphan had a Rosarius energy shield that saved him. The assassin was killed and the war began.

My knowledge of lore is a little shaky, but shouldn't the Assassin have known about the shield, or at least taken it into consideration? Hindsight is obviously 20/20, but still.

@@SWProductions100 Problem was he had to shoot through a stone pillar which prevented the use of what's called a shield breaker round. A good Warhammer 40k lore channel to listen to is Arch. He has a big video series covering the Siege and that particular incident is covered in detail. I forget which exact video covers the assassination attempt but it's among the first five I believe.

Speaking of videogames, I love the idea of a Hades style roguelike where you play as an Eversoar dropped on a randomly generated planet, with optional mission directives that raise your score. And the whole time the corner of the screen has a timer ticking down to the point when your organs go out and you combust.

Ive gotta say salamanders, theyre about as wholesome as you can get in the 40k universe, if you can overlook the complete obsession with flame weapons. Also, on the topic of assassins theres a cracking book I highly recommend called Assassinorum: KIngmaker, featuring a team of them tasked with taking out a high king of an imperial knight world, who is planning to succeed from the imperium.

Adamus: Dishonoured-style stealth-action game, or possibly just Ninja Gaiden or Warframe but 40k. Veneno: A stealth game in the style of Thief or Dishonoured, where you focus almost purely on stealth, accomplishing a goal, and then getting the hell out of Dodge. Callidus: A social game, keeping track of various characters and relationships in a web of intrigue, and assuming various disguises throughout the story, before taking the kill at just the right moment, and then exfiltrating. Maybe something comparable to Vampyr. Vindicare: A stealth fps, getting into position, and then using a meditation mechanic to wait for just the right moment and slow down your perception of time to take the absolute perfect shot, get an x-ray killcam like in Sniper Elite, then get out. Eversor: A hack n slash game in the style of God of War, but you get bonus points for killing every single thing that moves in as short a span of time as possible, picking up various weapons and tools to kill more enemies.

Here to put my vote in for the Blood Angels. They were my first army when I started, back in the 90s, until I converted to the Orks. Even then I chose Blood Axes as my clan, so I could still have all the Blood Angel tanks. I have a Blood Angel Predator tank, converted to have 4 heavy plasma cannons and a lascannon 😁 it's my character killer lol. Oh, it's also painted in jarring tiger stripes (bright orange and black stripes, cos tigers are sneaky!)

If I remember correctly (iirc) the assassinorum that made the callidus genestealer hybrid was wiped out by its own creation. It took a blanks or sisters of battles with a space marine chapter to hunt down and kill it fully. This was due to the genetics of the assassin being able to create clones or copies of itself with biomass. Not sure if this was some fan fic but sure sounded thought out.
