What emerges when refugees who have lost everything encounter a (sometimes hostile) community? Especially when that community is also socially bankrupt, helpless and hopeless through years of austerity and urban decay? A powerful film full of contrasting emotions, but ultimately with a message of hope - that despair is not inevitable, and there is another way to a brighter future. Truly a film for today. One which had to be made, and has to be watched. I just hope that there is someone willing to continue to make such films when Ken Loach is no longer with us. 🙏

Humanity makes humans, governments instantly destroy that. A country can be only a footstep away, a neighbour just a door away, but we allow the rich to keep us poor and enemies to each other. This will never end unless people fight ignorance. Save hatred for those who send our kids to war and then discard them when they return maimed and damaged. Take a look at France and reconsider... Look at the real statistics as too who is coming over - its not mostly women and children... Consider if the roles were reversed and you were suddenly and in numbers in their country... Why don't people flee to "their countries"? Will the behaviour from their countries exist in our country or will they integrate/assimilate? These questions need to be asked and answered before we tie ourselves in knots and before it is too late and our culture becomes relegated due to a lack of "social cohesion" and consequential change. Understand that all of this is not happening on accident. Who benefits?

Interesting trailer. _Pub landlord_ sounds a little _forced_ like someone reading a script And then saying the words.... . Past few years the acting style in most films (and modern Day soap opera performance) tend to be _hammy_ or _forced_ ? Possibly actors trying to make every word spoken to Have huge importance?

Whilst I do not agree with the extreme language and darkness of many of the negative comments on this trailer, surely you must understand that this is just utter propaganda. As much as it may feel like doing good and being an open refuge to everyone in need, can you not see that it will destroy the fabric of Europe? We cannot maintain a welfare state, and cannot retain our NHS and cannot fight for better wages if the powers inundate us with more people than we can take. You are being taken for a fool, even if every newcomer assimilates and is upstanding it still won’t work. But the reality is you associate decency with just being naive and open, sometimes you have to be honest.

Absolutely. The main point in the trailer for me is when the landlord shows her the photos and says about a way of life being destroyed. Thatcher knew what she was doing when she ripped the soul out of mining communities, she lay the foundations for where we are now. At its heart was divide and rule I just wish people could see how they've been manipulated into directing their justifiable rage at those most vulnerable rather than those who have caused their misery. He is a kind bloke to the poor folk in the world is Ken.. but I realise that this is about the UK being a " Sinking Ship " and how we should welcome more passengers aboard.. The thing that bothers me is what kind of people are currently being encouraged to live rent free in our Hotels .. I see kind looking down trodden women and kids in this Trailer, but the current immigrants are usually all male from the age of 18-40 .. and there are lots of reports that they are being put in place ready to do a job.. I wont go into what the job is, but as many of you are aware that there is an agenda being implemented on a Global scale.. where we are due to be plunged into food shortages and the end of cash.. also there is going to be major restrictions and censorships unleashed on the public. So these NATO trained male migrant soldiers will come in really handy for " Peace Keeping " jobs in the UK .. I wonder if Ken makes a movie about that .. or then again, he would no longer have the freedom to do so..

Men usually come over first because the passage is so difficult and as we have seen so often in the news, many do not survive. It is heart breaking for anyone to leave their families for an uncertain future, but many men leave with the hope that they can be reunited with their families once settled in the UK. Unfortunately, the UK immigration process is so complex, tedious and long, and many immigrants are not allowed to work whilst waiting the outcome. Many immigrants cannot wait to work, start having a purpose and contributing to society and move in to their own home but the system makes it so they are unable. Yes, they are often in hotels, but Britannia hotels are far from luxury, and I know I would pick my own home and a meaningful job over being stuck in a room for months on end with nothing to do.

The issue I have is the rumour that is going around about these men being brought here in a Trojan Horse style invasion and members of Black Watch have confirmed that these Migrants are highly trained UN soldiers who are waiting for civil disobedience to break out and they are just biding their time.. Of course I have my doubts because it is still only speculation, so I am in two minds about this.. Especially as the types of authoritarian regimes that people would need to flee from also tend to be very stereotypically traditional. This is changing, and of course women will try to flee from their oppressed positions in those societies, but overall these women will lack the resources to escape their country, while someone more politically active will be able to secure the means of escape. Young men are more likely to be pressed into an army and forced to kill their own families. Young men have the largest likelihood to manage to survive the journey. Young men still have no kids that would make them stay. They are supposed to earn money to support their family.
