Love the amazing fullness of one single instrument. A hallmark of Mark.

I’m so glad that you retrieved your fiddle from the museum. It represents a wonderful connection between your childhood/adolescence and now, something evermore important 😊the older we get, I think. I remember when you shared the outside of the old house in north Seattle with us along with what your childhood was like and how it guided you to the the fiddle and guitar. (Suddenly, I also remember those beautiful and moving improvisations at the beginning of Covid, when we were all locked away from each other. Perfection, I thought both then and now. ) Keep the white-painted fiddle until the end, sir. It represents too much of your life, like a timeline, kind of. My feeling, badly expressed I’m sure, whenever I see you play on it.

My boys are blessed with the gift for music & I think it has a lot to do with having heard so much of Mark’s music when they were… conceived, in the womb, being born, and every since. Lol My eldest child (now 21) was literally born to a CD of Mark with YoYoMa, Edgar Meyer… (American Seasons - I think it was called)… Appalachian Waltz. He has music in his head in a way I can’t understand… its like Hans Zimmer… it comes to him & he uses software to get it out & much of it is certainly owed to just hearing the early works of O’Connor & company. Luke’s his name & my youngest, Mack, who will likely choose a career in Praise & Worship music, can be heard in the 2nd link. 3rd link was never meant to be published as I just caught them in creative mode & hit record, but I love the tune they were inventing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2PZdXqCe7qerbssi=eX1eyYmhlUkYpudx kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZutdYxnpZiYiLssi=WcnPFIfgaP1rJOY5 kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJPZeWxjetiXnKcsi=n3oWw1X1IgR-HtNy I doubt this will reach Mark & its not meant to try to impress him but, rather, to salute 🫡 the greatest fiddle player to ever walk the earth. Mark, Tony, Sam, & Bela have always been my musical heroes. I’ll tell ya another awesome fiddler is Woody Paul (Riders in the Sky). I wonder if Mark & Woody ever worked together?
