I’ve had one of these for the last few months, I honestly use it more than the s1 mini baton I carry. It’s always on my keys and I love it. Edit: 3 years ago I wrote this comment and to this day the same flashlight is on my keys and still works like new. Just put in an order for the new model.

Had one. Lost it. Replaced it. Found it outside 3 months later. Still works after being in the heavy rains we had and in the mud. I love olights and have 5 total. I'm impressed!

Had one on my keychain for a few months and have been very happy. Works perfectly, so small it's almost unnoticeable but still puts out sufficient light, and great price.

I carry one that was a gift and it is one of the most useful tools I carry on a daily basis. The low setting is more than enough light for most situations. The bright is really nice to have on hand as well. I think it's a stellar option for carry

Been carrying one on my keychain for a few months now, great backup light! It won’t be a primary light for me, but it has been nice a couple times and allowed me to hand one light to someone else and still have one for myself.

I thinl at this point no, because there are still way more things using old USB inputs. But yes at some point, maybe in like 10 years yes they do need to start making everything in USB-F

They shouldn't necessarily stop making micro USB options just yet. but the electronic industry is largely leaving that behind now. Newly made phones mostly have USB-C now, and that alone will largely govern what people prefer to use.

USB-C is still a wild west of compatibility. But I agree, USB-C PD should be the new standard.

I had a devil of a time finding out a general-use USB-C solution that wouldn't end up bricking my Nintendo Switch. Baffling why companies that large can't be bothered to follow a spec.

Would USB C have made this flashlight more expensive? Otherwise, my phone uses USB C so I'm fine with the change over. Micro chargers tend to wear out over time.

I just bought this light last week and I agree on all points. I don't mind the short-ish battery life and lengthy-ish charge time because I don't use it all that frequently. Great edc light. Wouldn't rely on it hiking or anything, but it's always there in a dark alley or attic

I bought one during the buy one get one free sale. One of them had an issue with flickering. The replacement they sent me is 2 months old but now only holds its charge for a few days of no use. My original one is still kicking. I'm glad I only paid 15 bucks for all of them.

This is the first "keychain" light that I'd actually consider, for all the reasons you gave.

I ordered a few of these for gifts. I also ordered an rcr123 with a little usb plug in the battery itself! That could be even more of a game-changer. Now any light is usb rechargeable, or not if you don't want. The issue with built-in charging is you can't swap a fresh battery in - need to wait for it to charge.

I've had mine for a few months now and the only issue I've had with it that I've noticed is it will Flicker sometimes when I first go to turn it on. Other than that it works great and really bright for the size and price.

I would love to see a review on the thrunite tc12 v2, runs off an 18650 and puts out 1100 lumens. Its been my edc flashlight for a year and I love it.

Need to get the 1R2, it changes some features, such as now the light stays together when you open it to charge, has a spring loaded part that means you wont lose the light part if you somehow lose it. Also brighter and better throw.

Your videos are great and consistent. I really like the good, great, bad, ugly format. As a suggestion to take reviews to the next level, some could have a special "Shabazz field testing" segment, where you take a knife, or other product through some basic tests, like cutting paracord, whittling, cardboard, stabbing plastic, etc. Not necessary, but could be cool to see some testing as you're talking over it during the review

A bunch of manufacturers are doing a version of this with the same size and UI, probably made by the same OEM. The battery is a small cylindrical cell called a 10180, and in everybody else's, it's removable. I don't know why Olight thought making it non-removable was an improvement, but I'd get the Fenix UC02, Jetbeam Mini-1 or Klarus Mini One (in titanium) instead.

It's actually more difficult to color anodized aluminum in colors other than black, repeatability wise. One batch of red, for instance, might be slightly different than the previous, brighter, duller, slightly pinkish, etc. With black, it's just black.

I just ordered an i1R 2, but honestly I'm not sure how it's gonna work out for me. I don't put things on my keys besides a case knives flight tag, and I already have an LED Maglite Solitaire that I love. Not the brightest but bright enough and I like that it's American made ( I still can't deny the quality of Olight regardless of COO ) I use my flashlights so often that I just don't know that 15min of runtime will be enough for me. Maybe the simple USB charging will having me charge it daily like I do my phone and it won't be an issue. I'll see if I end up liking the low mode at all, usually I do not want anything but on and off on my lights but thought the implementation on this was something I could live with. Maybe I'll put this on a necklace or something, but if I don't end up liking it I know my grandmother will because I actually inherited my flashlight obsession from her and this little thing would definitely impress her.

i thought a negative would be that you could possibly lose the head while youre recharging it since you have to take it completely off to charge. while most will argue dont be careless and lose track of your stuff, i thought that would still be a thing

usb rechargeable is must these days. On the larger lights it's really nice if they can also act as a power bank to steal charge from. I digress. I think it would be useful if the body glowed in the dark as a marker for the light & key chain. Regardless a nice little key chain light. I have a Mecarmy, which is also usb rechargeable, but the head doesn't totally detach from the body while charging. So there's no chance of loosing track of the detached head. Good feature for us guys experiencing early senility.

I attached mine to my leatherman squirt. I use this everyday for work. I actually DO like the fact that it’s tiny and non invasive. Makes it easier to carry all my other shit in my pockets. I’ve used it about a whole two weeks without a charge. I replaced this one with a pen light that I had.

I've had mine for a month and it's developed "horror movie" flashlight, where you need to smack it to get it to work sometimes, a condition I thought I left behind when I stopped buying Wal-Mart flashlights. The mecarmy x4s version is much better, $5 more but lasts more than a month.

You should do a review on the RovyVon Aurora keychain light. I think you’d be impressed. USB rechargeable, 45 minutes to full charge VERY BRIGHT 550 lumens on high.

Nice, but the brass, copper and titanium MecArmy equivalents do everything this dose, but the top stays attached whilst charging, the battery can be changed AND though there is a black option, there are lots of choices! Mine’s copper. I bought it myself, with my own money.... I’m not on MecArmy’s payroll.

Why? So olight can sell you the "special edition" lights for 20 bucks more or to make you always go to their website for flash sales that usually end up with you buying more than one flash light. 😅 I have this in black too but i'd love to have it any other color. I guess they know black always sells to the tacticool guys who have 30 flashlights and they need to match their guns? Personally I'd rather have red, orange or copper so I can find it in my backpack or EDC bag easily.

Nice little gadget, but make sure you buy from a nearby authorized retailer, you can easily return it. Mine for example does not hold the charge. What I mean is, once fully charged, with the charging indicator on green, the next day it is empty, discharged. Not working, even if I did not turned it on for a second. Now I'm stuck with it, as it would cost me almost the price of a new one to send it back. Other than that, good luck with it. Handy little thing, but keep in mind to play safe.

Choice777 then it would need a rubber cover that compromises going under water or being soaked in a puddle..the oring in the cap keeps this completely waterproof.

This tiny little flashlight replaced my Olight i3e on my keychain. It is perfect for a random jackass in a "normal" urban environment. But I would also like to see this in copper, brass or titanium.

Bonesman you must have a Lemmon...no joke, mine has stayed on standby and works fine for nearly 6 months. Make sure you unscrew a quarter turn AFTER it shuts off so there is no battery contact.

Recharging is not good in my world. I keep a spare AAA battery in my pocket. Recharge lite always die at the worst time. A good looking lite however.
