That’s good he didn’t even turn up the intensity knob. That increases the clarity. The comparison with the fg 800 with the Sony c800. Really good

You have to take into account that Slate added a tube circuit emulation to the SM7B as well. Just wanted to throw that out there.

I just bought the VMS mic and I love it, but I need to know where you insert Melodyne when using the VSM software. VSM goes on top of the vocal track, so does Melodyne go above it or below it?

Bro i Just got the mic today and have the biggest headache. I thought i could use it just using ilok cloud. But as soon as i go to activate it ask for a physical ilok. I mean i don't really mind but i wish i would've known prior. Now i gotta wait 2 more days til the ilok comes in.

1st on ML - 1 2nd one is the L47 And the 3rd one is the ML - 1 the slate sounds good do you recommend it over the purchase of all three mics the emulations sound similar I'm thinking of buying the CV - 12 and the SM7B mics I would really like your opinion on this wavy

The first one I'm not sure. 2nd one was the L47 mic and the last one was the ML-1. There's a depth that not in the emulation that's in the actual electronics. That's what I hear anyway lol.

your right the cv12 sounded way more brighter than the fg12 its certain characteristics the emulations dont have but the key word is SIMILAR 😂

Hey there, The ML-1 is meant to be paired with the VMS ONE linear preamp. It’s a super clean, uncolored pre that allows the software to accurately emulate the virtual mics. I didn’t hear you mention the preamp in your video. Cheers!

I will note that at 8:40 he calls the sony mic dynamic and mistakes it for a shure mic when there is a whole section of dynamic mics in the rack. and you need the dynamic slate vms mic too even make it work

It's meant to be but I use it with an apollo twin and their emulation plugins on the pre itself to get some clean and unique tones.
