Plan. Always create a menu for the week and grocery shop accordingly. And about every five or six weeks we usually have a "freezer fud" menu to clear up space.

I just wanted to share how much I like the way you approach your videos! I like that you do the recipe first, then talk about it. I like that you help us appreciate the food rather than trying to enforce any one dietary lifestyle choice. And I really like the calm, measured pace of the videos. When you have music it’s great because you choose awesome stuff, and when you have no music it’s great too. Thanks so much for sharing these and for putting such great information out here for us to use! ⭐️

Your logic is wonderful! Even when my children were young I never called dinner "leftovers". I coined the phrase " planned overs" 40 years ago and my children and grandchildren still use it. It only makes sense when cooking for any number of people especially those who enjoy dinner the next day. Keep cooking. You are a natural!

On Sundays I meal prep breakfasts and lunches for the work week. It's so nice to be able to grab my breakfast and lunch each day and not have to worry about what I'm taking. I don't meal prep dinners, although I usually have a general idea of what I want to make during the week.

Good question. I mass make individual burritos, wrap tightly and freeze. I try not to make them too thick. I defrost it and then heat it up in a skillet making sure not to brown too much but still serve it with a knife and topped with fresh salsa. If in a rush I Nike it for a minute and then cook. I’d like to get his take on leftovers.

I can’t wait to try this recipe, half and half on the cheese will please everyone. I do have a question about freezing. I didn’t grow up using the freezer (leftovers were always eaten so no need to freeze) so I’m still kind of learning how to reheat meals. Do you let this defrost and then reheat or can you cook from frozen?
@thenarddogcooks2 жыл бұрын
Good question! You can do both. If you do from frozen: Preheat your oven to 400 to 450 degrees F, cover the quesadilla with aluminum foil, place it on a cookie sheet and put it at the center of the oven, bake for 35 to 40 minutes. If you thawing: (i like to airfry to reheat at 425F for 8-10 mins) Preheat oven to 350 F and bake 10-15 mins until crispy and heated through!

Just found your channel and loved this video! Very clear, calming visuals, and no distracting music. I'll definitely check out more of your videos in the future. Subscribed! 😁👍 BTW, I love how you talk about meal prep and freezing foods for later because I do that heavily at least once a year, right before summer begins, and moderately the rest of the year due to mobility issues. Meaning, (because I live alone) I normally cook at least 2 meals that freeze well every day for a week and make 4 (or more) portions and all extras immediately go into the freezer (as soon as they cool down enough). After that I'm set for the rest of the month or more (because sometimes I'll get pizza, eat a sandwich and/or salad instead). Right before summer hits, I generally do the same thing but for almost an entire month (3-4 months of food for me) so I do zero cooking in the summer. Luckily, if packed well (I have the Food Saver system) you can literally freeze food for a year and not taste a difference after reheating. I only prepare cold stuff in the summer heat since I live in a NYC apartment, top floor, with no central air conditioning. My apartment is already an oven at that point without help, lol. 😂
