I read a book in elementary about a silversmith apprentice that accidentally melted his hand and became handicapped/disabled because if the incident. In the book they described how it hurt at first, and then not at all, (because it burnt away all of the nerves), and he became totally calm with the situation. Always wished I could remember the name of that book.

Almost everytime I watch this movie, when he says "it's quite cool" and it drops into Frodo's hand, I scream out "AHH NO IT BURNS AHHH! Also when Sam says he's walked the farthest from home he's ever been, and then takes that next step, I always make a death gurgle and thud sound. I can't stop myself
