on an album as sophisticated and versatile as "The Album" (1977, just 45 years algo) "Move on" is one of the most original songs The melody surprises from the beginning, with a complex and complete instrumentalization, including sounds of Andean music (like those of my region in South America) Björn's prologue stands out, that introduces us to an excellent lyric, with a mystical part that includes the meaning of life and invites us to take center stage the voices are majestic, one of ABBA's best vocal and choral works Agnetha's solo is soft, sweet and beautiful, and in the next verse She did a second voice of Frida, (it's from anthology) and with the choirs at pure power, with those almost mystical "lalala", together with a growing music, they make a spectacular symphony. All the songs in "The Album" (1977) have their distinctive stamp, it is an album of excellence (a Masterpiece) and "Move On" is a fantastic creation by ABBA and the best demonstration of their openness to exploring new musical genres and in 1980 ABBA recorded "Move on" in spanish: "Al Andar", to the album "Gracias por la Música" I give you all My best regards and wish a greatest week from Buenos Aires Argentina GOD bless You

Hi guys love your videos on ABBA. In Australia where they first become a hit way back in 1974 with Waterloo, Abba became the biggest group in sales throughtout Australia. In the music charts for the next 2 to 3 years they were either number 1 or in the top 5. In some cases they would have 3 or 4 songs in the top 20. I was one of those teenage ABBA fans and saw them perform in concert in the pouring rain in Sydney. I have evrey album they released on vinyl, every cassette and of course every CD and DVD. When I married my wife in 1992 she also had every one as well, so now we have 2 of every albums sold. Of course now getting older we still enjoy ABBA. The new releases a couple of years ago bought back many memories to us both. Keep up the reactions, I love seeing the younger generation discovering what they have missed.

This song is a cover from a German tv commercial from the early 80's (not ABBA covered this, the hair care company "Gard" covered it). "Gard" is a German hair care brand known as the "Gard" advert in the 80's and they covered this song (Move On) in German and the lyrics were like this: "Beautiful hair is given to you, let it live with "Gard". Give it love, give it care, let it live with "Gard"! That's how I got across this song! Good old times! Because ABBA are geniuses and were very popular in South America in the 70's to '82, they sang their popular songs (not all) in Spanish, too. "Move On" is "Al Andar". They sound great in Spanish, too!

Shame you didn’t fall in love with this song…..it’s almost as if you listened to it out of context so maybe that has something to do with it. Move On was on “The Album” along with Take a Chance and Name of the Game and Hole in Your Soul. Move On stood out as this wonderfully grounded and earthy song. It was the emotional anchor to The Album and it fit just perfectly acting as this wonderful cleansing of the musical palate. Kudos to you recognition of the songs layering. Each subsequent verse has something added to it and the outro reaches anthemic proportions. I think it was done beautifully. Full disclosure…..I also find Bjorn’s wise old cowpoke spoken verse cringeworthy as well.

The Spanish version, Al Andar, is somehow even better. Such an underrated song all around.

The low voice at the beginning is from their manager Stig Anderson. I am always watching with pleasure ur vids, preferable with u both. So nice now these days new people get enthousiastic about Abba music, welcome to da family😇❤

A beautiful lead by Agnetha and then as usual the harmonies with Frida bring it the ABBA style. Music and Lyrics are just typically ABBA.

No sample. ABBA never used samples. Björn is speaking in the intro. It was a leftover from an ealier version of this song when Move On was called Big John.

Quite disappointing reaction to this amazing track. I've been listening to this for years now and is still one of my fav ABBA song. I think this is the difference between hard care ABBA fan and new comers to ABBA world.
