THE ONEWHEEL GT IS AN ABSOLUTE BEAST / Off Road / UK

Every time I ride this board it continually blows my mind. It has so much power from the first to the last percentage of battery. It can climb rocky inclines as easily as rolling on the flat and I have absolute faith it wont let me down when the trail gets tough.
If you're considering getting one JUST DO IT! It'll be the best decision you make all year.
It's my main reason for going to all of these beautiful places and my life wouldn't be the same without it.

Thank you for this. As a new OneWheel rider in the UK (Wirral, north west) and with only 65miles under my belt.. I’m still feeling really novice. Thank GOD for wrist guards and a back brace! Haha. I have the stock treaded tire instead of the slick cause, you know.. uk! 😂 Just got 16 miles out of mine with the treaded tire this morning and running on trails in the UK February cold weather and rain. 15 PSI for nice float and i’m 16 stone. Will have a play with the PSI but need to get my 43 year old knees back into shape again. Still impressed considering my heavy body and the PSI. I’m hoping in the summer I’ll get more out of my GT. 🤞🏻

I’m sure you’ll get more out of it once the summer months are here. It’s hard going through the winter but I just love it so much I can’t seem to fight the urge to go out even in the bad weather. Have you taken it on the beach yet? It’s great fun on the sand. I was planning a trip up to Llandudno at some point to ride that road along the the Great Orme. That’d be incredible with the drone. 🤙🏼

I love the video and the skill of your riding. I have a gt as well and man they are something else sometimes! One thing i must say though is a good investment in a helmet would be a good idea, one wrong fall man. A helmet is enough for me though, when I ride I have wrist guards and a helmet. Safety first man and ride on 🤘🏻

What coast line is this? Absolutely stunning!! Just about to buy my first one. Not sure wether to get the gt or xr, any opinions on that? I've got amazing coast here from south Wales to West Wales so can't wait to do similar rides. Cracking video and footage mate 👏

Hey mate, that's great news. The GT is the best for trail riding in my opinion but the XR is pretty good too. The Gt obviously has the best range out of all the Onewheel's and when you're out on a ride that's the most important thing. I've had a PintX, XR and a GT and I can hardly ever run the battery down on the GT. Your legs run out of steam before the board does. Let me know what you decide. 😎

Hey mate, I haven't updated my app or board yet so I haven't used the digital shaping. It seems like it can cause issues with the GT so I'm doing my best to avoid it for as long as possible. I think if you want it you just have to update the app to the latest version and then it'll prompt you to update the board's firmware. It might be okay on a new board but a lot of older GT's are dying soon after installing the new firmware. Let me know how it goes but my advice would be to avoid it if you can. I switch my phone on to airplane mode before I open the OW app so it has no access to the internet.

Nice, my dad's got a GT and I've got a pint x. We both feel really unstable on the GT and have for months. Tried all sorts of things like letting down tyre pressure etc but it just feels super wobbly when carving.. in a straight line of road though it is very good.

As someone who’s looking for either mountain board or one wheel. I think a one wheel looks more fun and more comfortable off road but hit me with some opinions.

The onewheel GT in particular can climb up rocky hill trails with ease. It’s incredible over most types of surfaces and it’s great fun until you have to pick it up. The smaller board (PintX) is great until it breaks. Mine lasted 3 months. I’d say get one. 👍🏼

May I know PSI and Riding mode in this video? I have problem on trail where my treaded tire are too bouncy and uncomfy to ride on. It could be my untrained legs but after 1000km I think I'm not the only one. Cheers.

Hey buddy, I think I was probably on about 19 PSI and in Highline. To be honest the PSI and riding mode doesn’t seem to make much difference for me, it’s all about the flexed knees. I think it just takes time to learn and get confident. I’ve been riding now for 14 months and I still feel pretty unstable and out of control most of the time. For me it’s all about learning to tame the damn thing. 🤙🏼

I ride my GT at 14.5 psi in Highline Mode on streets and sidewalks but for dirt trails that aren't so smooth I lower it all the way down to 10.5... but I won't bonk over rocks or big tree roots with the psi that low. Bending my knees to find just the right stance was key for me. Ì absolutely love my Onewheel GT.

The only downside is that because the GT can go so far by the time I get home my legs feel like I’ve been doing non stop squats for like 3 hours... which they have been. Still worth it though. Almost every second I’m on that thing I’ve got a big grin on my face. 😁

What setting should you be in on dirt/grass? I just put my 40th mile on the board (GT), slick tire. I tried to go thru short flat grass and unless I have momentum it barely moves. Tried Flow and Highline mode and no torgue to move me. No issue on paved hills though and I have some really steep ones in my neighborhood. Newbie here btw! I'm 215 lbs so well short of the limit.

I only ever use Highline on the GT and it seems really torguey. Maybe just lean a bit more forward and see if you can push it? They don’t do great on soft surfaces like spongy grass or soft sand.

@@exotichotshot7221 to begin with you could lower your PSI to 10-15 for a more comfortable ride. It’s hard learning with a high PSI. The battery is so good on the GT you don’t have to worry about the lower PSI affecting your distance. 👍🏼

I was riding after work so I wasn’t sure if I just was too tired and didn’t have the muscle memory yet or if it was something with the board. I’ll try the lower psi. I’ve been riding it on the Roam setting. Would the other settings be better now or would I just go to those settings as I progress with the board?
