Gabriel Traveler Haha actually the restoration that has been going on since the 70’s is one of the most complicated restoration projects there have been. They have been reversing restoration works of the 19th century that actually damaged the building. They basically took the building apart because piece by piece and reassembled it. Now that project is coming to an end but they just approved of another project. They are gonna be raising the walls of the cells inside from original pieces found on site. By the time that finishes we’re gonna have a more 3D perspective of what the temple looked like.

There are many cicadas in Greece. That's why they had become the symbol of slender poetry in Hellenistic times!! 😉 Thank you for your video!! ❤
@harrystanimerakis15984 жыл бұрын
The cicadas are pretty awesome, they make the most soothing sound. I grew up in north Greece listening to their songs from June to September. Their sound is almost perfectly combined with the heat, the smell of oregano in the Mediterranenan fields and the blue of the Aegean sea and sky. Much, much better than say the annoying drizzle and the hordes of random drunk people in semi- central London.
@bohodiak4 жыл бұрын
Beautifully photographed, with nice sharp images. I was in Greece 7/17 and the crowd up to the Parthenon was immense. A stream of humanity, shoulder to shoulder. I see the Parthenon is still under repair. Next time I'll skip Athens and go to the islands.

Welcome to Greece. 😀 4:36 Hey I can see my home from up there, at the hillside in the background. ( If you had a telescopic lense and zoomed in 😉) Real fact : Parthenon was almost intact until 1687 that Francesco Morosini fired his cannons at it because the Turks were hidding about 500 barrels of gun powder in there. One bomb went through the ceiling and exploded the powder destroying the temple making it the ruins we see today....😕 Nice to see you enjoying yourself at our country!
