The question for me is this laptop compared to the Zephyrus M16 with RTX 4080. However, this is cheaper with better CPU. However half a kilo heavier.

I planed to buy this laptop mainly because of the price point. Other laptops with similar config are all over 3000 USD. But from some of the comments here, i see that most people aren't happy with it, mainly due to the fan noise and other issues. Now I am not sure whether to buy it. The problem is at this point, i won't be able to afford anything over 3000 usd.

I have GP68 and its a beast of Power All games running easily on 1600p or 1800p i play with DSR Resolution because it has only 1080p screen

@@Austria91 The GP68 13v also got the new gen intel cpu the only diff between the two of em is maximum power limit for the gpu and cpu combine, and both of the series got 4080 series and 78hx also got 4090 version just wait for a bit for your amazon to stock up

Does MSI laptops have coil whine, ı am not sure but ı think ı have never seen a review which highlights it. Can someone tell if they have seen or experienced? Also is coil whine on asus laptops like g18 and scar 18 fixed since launch maybe with a software update or hardware change by any chance?

How do you fix the god damn fans ignoring the fan speeds set in MSI Center! It's driving me insane. I have to play on low settings/60hz to keep the GPU below 70C or the fans go mental. I've already disabled CPU trip points in the advanced bios which fixed the CPU fan but I can't find any settings for the GPU fan. I'm about to return the laptop because it's unusable when the fans run at 80% during light gaming with the GPU below 72C. All of these paid reviews ignore the deafening fan noise.

@@shtewps Updating the bios "fixed" the balanced profile which now runs the fans at 75%. The silent profile (50%) still has a bug where it keeps lowering your cpu clock all the way down to 400mhz even though the temp is below 75c. I just have to switch between the Extreme profile with a quiet fan profile for desktop use and Balanced for gaming. I also have to switch the Windows power plan from power saving (3.3Ghz) to balanced (4.4Ghz) every time as well because MSI center doesn't do it. Speaking of clock speeds this laptop is advertised as up to 5.6Ghz. Highest I've seen is 4.4Ghz on Extreme with the maximum performance profile. Final note MSI Center also overrides your clock settings you set in other software like MSI Afterburner and it doesn't remember what clock settings you set and defaults to a 100mhz overclock which can be unstable. MSI in their infinite wisdom also blocked you from adjusting the fan profile and GPU power/voltage in software like MSI Afterburner. I would avoid MSI at all costs honestly. I have a top tier laptop and have to cap my games to 30/60 fps to keep the noise down because of them pushing their broken software 😡

How the fuck can you bring a broken product to market like that. Would you say this is indicitive of MSIs built quality as a manufacturer? Or must this "cheaper" line of procures? Reason I ask.. Asus is trash, and if msi too.. Who the hell do we have left? Gigabyte doesn't seem too promising. My sorted out all of the kinks from my "flagship" zephyrus duo 16 and out of nowhere, the webcam dropped off the fact of the earth. Completely gone from device manager. This is apparently related to a faulty cable. Reseated the cable.. Still nothing. This is fucking obscene.

@@shtewps From my experience MSI's software is the worst. I was an early adopter of Zen 2 and the bios came with loads of bugs, some dangerous leading to overvoltage. Then there was the disaster of them cheaping out on bios memory to save a few cents which meant they had to drop support for older CPUs and the GUI in order to fit support for Zen 2. Originally they planned to not support Zen 2 at all but that went against AMDs whole advertising campaign about upgradability and people weren't happy. I get the gist that they're just a terrible company in general. Their only working software MSI Afterburner they haven't paid the developer of in a year last I heard.

I own one for a week now :( it's kinda frustrating on the fan speed controller you need to manually adjust because it's crazy loud even in silent profile even on no load of programs and got some keys sticking out but luckily i have knowledge on repairing now working a lot better now but still it has a refresh rate of 244 and the cheapest i9 13th gen with 4080 you can get.

I bought the legion slim 5 7840hs paired with 4070 - I think I might just stick with it. I was hoping that this laptop at 2000 euro might be interesting, but with those issues I don't think it's worth the extra 650 euro compared to the legion.

This isn't the same unit. Jarods was a 12th Gen CPU. Yes this is 1080p but its a better panel, among other tech, than the one featured on Jarods channel. At 16" more than 1080p is not entirely needed for gaming. This kind of horsepower is for external displays.
