Discovered it 4 months ago. As a Haitian American in LA, I have been checking on Google for Haitian restaurants every 5-6 months and I nearly cried when Natureal came up. I was ready to go to little Haiti in Tijuana for my fix if I had to. So glad that they are here but everytime I call to order they are out of the Legume, Haitian spaghetti and the Mac and cheese so I still have yet to taste those. They look delicious. Will try again next week.

Sòs pwa can have beans in it. Everyone does it a bit different. After you purée the beans, you can leave some to add back in the sòs/sauce. I hope you washed your hands after digging into that pikliz. Man! Looks like I need to move to LA lol.

I appreciate your support but the soup was not supposedly made nor was it developed during Independence Day. The fact is that this soup was a soup that enslaved Haitians (Africans) made for the colonizers and they themselves were not allowed to eat because it was considered a delicacy. when the enslaved Haitians rose up rebelled and fought for their independence ,becoming the first free black Republic ever on January 1st 1804, they celebrated their freedom by making the soup and enjoying it... Thus creating the tradition of Haitians making this soup every January 1st.... So to you it might just be a story about soup. But to me and many Haitians and descendants of Haitians this soup represents resilience and pride and struggle and strength and freedom.... Haiti fell on the sword first so that other black countries (and latin countries) and even the enslaved people of America could fight for their freedom
