Ichigo doesn't spam getsuga tensho the same way hitsugia doesn't spam his ice. It's an inate part if his zanpakto. Ikkaku madarame who's at least 150 years old and spent his life fighting and looking for death matches before joining the gotei 13 said ichiho is on his level in sword skills, he matched byakuya in sword technique while his own power slowly crushed him. In main story ichigo had never won a fight with primarily gensuga tensho. The one fight he did that he lost and it was because his mask had a short timer to use

He's dubbed as the "pOTentiAL maN" but that's the point, he's already achieved so much this young, so imagine the potential he has when he get's older. I was thinking the same thing. In that episode, Isshin told hitsugaya to continue working on his Bankai training ( that's what I remember, I may be wrong). This could be interpreted as training to achieve a bankai, or training to make your bankai stronger. SAFWY is also between FKT and Fullbring, which means Azashiro lost to Zaraki when he was still using a fully sealed Zanpakuto, even when Azashiro used bankai against him. His Reiatsu was less than that Zaraki. So he is definitely overrated and people only ever mention and misrepresent his win vs Kuruyashiki and rarely mention his loss to Zaraki. His motivations are also about the same as like Shusuke Amagai (personal revenge against gotei 13) and that guy is super forgettable. Cien Granz is by far the more interesting villain in SAFWY.

This whole onslaught pushed Kenpachi to a whole new level of power, enough to withstand Azashiro's bankai. We know that if an enemy has a huge gap in reiatsu compared to another, the one with the major reiatsu advantage can nullify the other's bankai. So, Azashiro losing to Zaraki doesn't make him "overrated," tf? Zaraki hit a level comparable to *maybe* Dangai Ichigo, probably even stronger, I'd say. To call Azashiro "overrated" just because he lost to a character who took down a dude capable of manifesting his imagination, and on par with Ichigo, the series' main character who's basically a hybrid of all races, is just plain crazy and delusional.

One of the kenpachis achieved bankai before discoring his Shikai and his power was really something, but like Shinji the best thing is that the power between his shikai and bankai is reversed. His shikai is only, just a really really super duper powerfull sword and thats all, while his bankai allow him to control the reishi in the Soul society herself, but don't grant him any physical strenght like a good Kenpachi is supposed to.

The MAN Kenpachi from Zaraki. He had Shikai and Bankai. The whole time, probably not long after his fight with Yachiru hundreds of years ago. He just blocked out his Zanpakuto. As soon as he hears that voice he’s busting out shikai and bankai with no training to unlock it.

I like to imagine (In my own head Cannon) That Captain Yamamoto was the same way as a kid, but with Fire, and that one day Prime/Adult Captain Hitsugaya will become Head Captian, with a young prodigy who has the power of Earth. The cycle continues with a Wind prodigy, and finaly the next Fire Prodigy, completing a full circle, and forever continuing the strong circle of elements.

If you read the manga, you’d know ow that while Isshin was still captain, Hitsugaya was still working on his bankai training to achieve it. It’s not that he had his bankai before joining the Gotei 13, but that he could communicate to a degree with his Zanpaktou spirit and was strongly connected to it, probably more than most

Considering they had theirs before the Gotei 13 were formed 1000 years ago (as they were both founding members of the Gotei 13) But also, yeah, Kenpachi Zaraki did it too. But he's a special case. oddly enough, Kenpachi Soya Azishrio (one of Zaraki's predecessors) also achieved bankai before becoming a captain, as his was unlocked as a means of survival.

Well…so actually Kenpachi did, he just didn’t know it. Which is why he was missing during the Muramasa arc because it would have given it away. He fights only Byakura. Since Muramasa controlled Bankai’s, they needed Kenpachi to stay away from him as to not release the secret that the entire time Yachiru was his Bankai. Also, Funfact: Retsu is not Unohana’s real first name. Yachiru is. She changed it to Retsu after losing to Kenpachi when he was a child. When Kenpachi got older, he “finds” a little girl and instead of her telling him her name, he names her Yachiru, after Unohana. When Unohana dies, Kenpachi is able to hear the voice within his sword. So Yachiru Unohana dies and shortly after Yachiru the pink haired second disappears after Kenpachi summons just his Shikai. Meaning, Kenpachi suppressed his riatsu to such an extent, his Zanpakuto had to squeeze out its own power to match Kenpachi’s suppression. It manifested itself as a person. Interestingly enough, Yachiru had her own Zanpakuto because in the Zero division, the sword maker states that ALL shinigami are given swords with potential to become Bankai when Ichigo had to have his replaced. Meaning Kenpachi was and is so powerful that his own Bankai has its own Bankai. Yachiru is able to summon monsters as well as be able to hit those she intends to hit regardless of if they dodged or not or if her memory of the attempted hit is wiped gone. This power is similar to the Almighty’s shooter who hits any target regardless of what stands between them. Though Yachiru’s was far more powerful. The group 46 said they intentionally refused to allow Kenpachi ANY training to suppress his power more to include ordering Yamamoto to not train him after finding out the results of only teaching him to swing a sword with 2 hands. Lastly, in the fight with “YW”, Kenpachi still had on his eye patch, meaning he didn’t lose the fight due to strength or fighting ability. Most likely he was tricked via a hallucination to prevent him from removing his eye patch.
