So A.B.A is now out! I played around with her for a few hours testing stuff out and I gotta say I dig it, even if obviously shes meant to be the ultimate feast or famine character. Also some moves didn't exactly work the way I thought they would(for the better) so thats a very pleasant surprise! I know its the meme now but now I guess all the aba mains can finally play her for the first time :)

hey roof, just wanted to drop a comment that Bonding is +2 and Danzai (jr.623H) is +4 according to the early dustloop. You mentioned not knowing exactly how + it is. Thanks for the video!

Such a unique character! Her key in savage mode animation-wise looks like sth from studio ghibli n miyazaki. Its that quality-good! Thas why g.gear is 1of my fav fightin games 4sure! I was really surprised, amused n delighted they choose aba as inclusion to strive. Respect from me for covering her)

Two very important details that makes Jealous mode even stronger: the second hit of the rekka is a TRUE LOW, and 2H in Jealous Rage is, too. So she has MUCH mixup potential to open people up on it.

She's a beast. Gobou shows what she's really capable of. Intertwine and tilt combined with heed and haul are great movement options. Her heavy slash goes so far even in normal mode. 2K is great for opening people up. She also has a vertical dust which is great for going into bonding and dissolving. Law is key, key is king is a third way for her to transform by the way. As a defense oriented player I love her mechanics.

Great first impressions! ABA seems really fun and she looks amazing in motion. It creeps me out how you can also make out a face (eyes at least) on the yellow axe part of the key when in jealous rage. Like Paracelsus is two different entities within the key. When Bonding and Dissolving lands, you kind of see him "enter" the axe part, so it makes me wonder who/what the goopy, baked out thing is...

I‘m no Guilty Gear lore scholar by any means, but I believe that that is still 100% Paracelsus. He just has the ability to transform into anything he likes. Or rather, anything A.B.A. likes. See, the key form isn’t even his true form. He’s actually an axe. But when A.B.A. first picked him up, she fought he looked like a key, so he then started to make himself look like one. By that logic, I believe his goopy form is just him conforming to A.B.A.‘s rage, so to say

Legit first DLC character I actually enjoy playing. So far I thought quite a few of the DLC characters were really cool and even was waiting for some to be released based on prior interest from their Xrd version, but the gameplay didn't click for me on any of them. Meanwhile, I started out with no interest in ABA, thinking that she was downright goofy based on her +R version, but the trailer was absolutely sick and after playing a few matches against her I had to try her. The rush of switching between stances to unleash the jelaousy and the incredible animations do it for me. Plus I love the projectile super. tl;dr ABA is absolutely sick, 10/10.

I still remember how her blood state back in X2 used to consume her own health with each attack, but landing her key stab during this state would restore that lost health. Still crazy in Strive, but without that kind of health management.

Something I see no one talking about is 6H. Outside of jealousy it's pretty trash, but in Jealousy, it just absolutely wrecks life bars. Then it's all covered by DP or Quarter Circle Slash if you're not confident the whole move will hit. Just going from C.S into 6H nets like 93 damage where 2H gives like 87 in 3 hits. But also, yes, ungas will 100% be bungaed in Rage. I've already swamped several people because yes, that is + on block.

I mean, the things you had misconceptions about were mentioned in the Aba Starter Guide the same day you released the 'Aba is in Strive' video. At least for people who watched it, the plus on block specials were mentioned in there, as well as the invincibility after the parry.

if you talking the DP its not frame 1 armour, so while its very powerful you cant use it as a traditional reversal

7:18 Ugh.... in other-words, it's her former Force Break version of the move. Dear Lawd is that not fun to stare down. And it's plus, but so was the old FB so that is to be expected, but unfun. No armour on frame one is a blessing, but that is the only thing. A.B.A. is kind of under-talked about as a character in +R but having a pal of mine that is a specialise to A.B.A. really sheds some like light to some of the unthinking that she allows. This character is, without a doubt, degenerate... in every sense of the word. I don't think that Strive players are ready for this but I have seen some folks say that Gear is in need of a shakeup, A.B.A. like this will do that.

ABA is fun to play as and against. Bullying Abas keeping them away, wasting their silly meter by forcing them to block and zoning effectively AS GOLDLEWIS is very fun!
