PTSD-C over here, and it feels nearly impossible to avoid stress and I've not managed to get a handle on my stress response. Even if I hide out at home, crazy stress inducing circumstances seem to always find me. Last weekend, neighbor downstairs locked their dog in a bathroom for days and it literally barked, cried, whined for 24 hours straight. Two days ago, AC went out, and was 83 inside my place for 24 hours. A couple months ago, I came home at 3am to find a strangers dog inside my home, with a closed front gate and closed door, so a stranger opened my door to let this dog into my home (I was of course majorly frightened thinking there may also be a stranger in my home as well to go along with the dog). A few months ago, a crazy neighbor lit her 30 foot high tree on fire just 25 feet from my door, and was yelling like a crazy person for 2 hours outside prior to lighting the tree on fire, and I had to call 911. I don't even live in "bad" neighborhoods, just nothing fancy. But I literally can't avoid weird super stressful things even when I hide out at home. So exhausting, and I have no clue how to avoid constant stress mode. 🤦🏼♀️

I stopped participating in social media and stopped watching the news over two years ago, it has helped TREMENDOUSLY. I feel so much peace in my soul, along with being a Christian and obeying the Lord. His ways are the ultimate way to live life. I still have stress, but it's relieved immensely just by cutting those two toxic things. Plus cutting half of my evil family members out of my life has helped too.

@@parkerbohnn yes, that is what I am trying to stay away from, like Trump said to Zelensky they, he and Putin both need to sit down and talk for peace but then the elections were stolen by Democrats and China, there’s the Ukraine war and our country is in horrible shape too. I don’t believe anything on the news and try to stay away for a little bit of sanity. If Russia wanted to annihilate Ukraine they could, I hope it doesn’t come to that and I don’t want Putin to get ousted, the alternative could be worse. So yeah

Woke up wired and watched one of your videos which explained my muscle tightness and cramping from the adrenaline. Felt relaxed for the first time in months. Got up and ate and bam. Now I am wired again and itchy. Had chicken peas and ghee. These rushes started when I tried to go low carb but I had cortisol, thyroid histamine issues before that. Menopause made all my symptoms worse. These rushes deplete me of electrolytes, and energy and I feel weak and dizzy.

Hi Doc! I've been watching (and learning from) you for years! One of the best pieces of advice you gave, which I share with everyone, is your advice on lowering cortisol. Long story short, I was suffering from irrational stress. I would worry about stupid things like volcanos erupting or meteors falling from the sky. The most tangible fear was a new fear of driving on the highway. I've driven literally millions of miles in my career in agriculture as well as an active reservist (USAF) commuting hours one-way several times a week. My "irrational worry and stress" manifested itself at highway speeds in my little Saturn View. I worried that I would slip off the road and crash. AMAZING! I watched one of your videos back in 2017 or 18, where you suggested vitamin C as a cortisol reducer. I bought the most organic and high-end C I could find. I took 1,000 mg for a few days and drove from Tucson to Sadona - terrified the whole time that I was about to spin out and crash our car. So on a whim, I bumped the dosage up to 3,000mg and what happened next was the on of the most profound experiences in my life. While driving on the highway, just south of Flagstaff, the worry, fear, dread, and stress just lifted. I relaxed in my seat and took one hand off the wheel, on a slight left turn at 70MPH. Incredible! It worked and I've wanted to thank you since. I share this with anyone who will listen and I tell them my KZbin Doctor cured my worry and dread with vitamin C!! p.s. I don't buy the expensive stuff anymore, Kirkland's is fine and I don't have to take it (3gr) every day either... but I can tell when I need to, and when I do, the stress is relieved and the dread subsides. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing your experiences. It made me chuckle (in kinship!) about the vehicle going off the road. I totally relate! ☺️I don't like high speeds or bridges, and I'm always feeling that somehow my car is just going to...I dunno... defy the laws of physics LOL. Thanks to Dr. Berg and his video on vitamin B1, for me that has been a life-changer! When I can feel myself getting stressed or wound-up, I pop one of those and next thing I know I'm back to normal, it happens so fast!!

@@DaveCooksBiz i got my results from my hormonetest today and tada, my cortisol is higher than the highest allowed normal value. Even though it was measured at a day when nothing had happened to stress me out. I have cravings, i feel depressed, stressd and irritable.I´ve withdrawn from family, from friends from everybody..all of them stressed me out. Sure, there are stressors in my life from which i can´t ru away. I also do go out a lot in nature ad take long walks with my dog. But if something bad happens somtimes i can´t find the energy to go out. Also my TSH is higher than it should be (may be hypothyroidism). My calcium is also low, maybe because cortisol took away the glucose from the muscle and therefore the joints needed to carry more weight which meant that they needed more calcium to try to prevent from rub off. And all you did to lower the cortisol was taking Vit c? Really this helps that much? How much would i have to take? My cortisol is at 226 and the maximum if i remember right is at 195. So its higher, and it was measure at a day when nothing had happened. 121,25 pound. Taking even 1000mg is a lot for the stomach 🙂

I know my Diabetes Type 2, hypertension & high LDL are the result of all this so now I really try to keep my stress levels down as much as possible. In fact, I have a imaginary bucket that I throw things into that I can do nothing about and which do not affect me. But I see so many 'angry' people around, all wound up because they have swallowed so much misinformation and embellished 'news' that they have read or heard online. Why live your life in such stress? Even though its a manual therapy it impacts and balances the Nervous system so often they notice improvement not only in posture but sleep, improved digestive system, helps regulate hormonal imbalances etc.. They often don't understand how the Bowen Therapy can have such a profound effect on the body. So good to have found you and your videos as it it great to help my patients understand. I will certainly refer your videos to some to my patients. Also if the body doesn't respond is often a gut issue.
