I was in fight or flight mode all last year... it was like having PTSD attacks 3-4 times a week. I now have severe health problems Breast cancer, bleeding ulcer, diverticulitis, and my hiatal hernia (paraesophageal hernia) is so intense I need surgery to also pull my stomach down. I can hardly breathe just walking to the kitchen. I'm a mess... I've had bad insomnia for 2 years. When I had severe stress about 32 years ago, I got Graves disease (undiagnosed for many years) Stress is a Killer. I don't know if I have enough energy to deal with all this (plus spondylosis). I'm 64, and tired. I never had drug or alcohol addictions. Advice to anyone reading this... run away from anyone making you live in fear, domestic violence or under dysfunctional living conditions... when you realize a loved one is a Narcissist... don't give them an inch. Get them out of your life, and only help them from far away if you feel obligated... Not kidding. 🥺
@mamandapanda185

I wish you the best in your recovery, but it might open a flood gate in other ways. One of the things about narcissistic abuse is that more often than not you are only aware of the abuse that they want you to be aware of; you are trained to disassociate when they don't want you to be aware of the abuse. Once you recognize the parallels between what an individual and an entire system can do, and that you cannot run, well, you cannot untake that red pill.

Laughter is beneficial for the body because it helps it secrete serotonin, which plays an important role in regulating human mood, which is also called the "happiness hormone". But if you are unable to laugh, it is enough to close your eyes, rest and smile to release the hormone of happiness. It is also possible that a cup of tea can give you a feeling of satisfaction.

I got 18 out of 20 (not 17 and 20 because I'm young). No surprise. The best way to avoid stress is stay out of stress. Easy to say but 99% at a time stress come from situation that we can't avoid it. I'm doing everything in the list he recommended but the number 1. "shift your attention" is the hardest challenge. Yes, we all can try to shift our attention to something else that raise our pleasure but that is temporary . The problem is still there and we face it daily. We have to stay away from it but sadly we simply can't. And the number 2 can be impossible for some people.

My stress levels increased, obviously. I am seeing this video right on time. I am thankful to see that what my body is doing to me is not all in my head. Dr. Berg, after hearing you talk about the haters in this video... I just wanted to say, the information you are providing for free in invaluable. It has taught me so much! I have lived with fairly severe anxiety almost my entire life (now 40). It has made me miss out of a large part of my life. I started changing my lifestyle when presented with anti-anxiety/anti-depressant drugs from my doctor. I have since started exercising daily and eating more healthy foods (eliminating as much carbs as possible - except for those from whole foods... no more BREAD). Today I am literally anxiety free, it's unbelievable. I never thought I would ever see a day where I could live without constant anxiety. I came across your channel while researching this lifestyle. The information you provide is helping me grow even further. I can't thank you enough, God Bless you!

Having adhd (nonmedicated) I don't even know how it feels not being in constant stress and under constant anxiety. The moment I open my eyes in the morning it flushes in like I'm splashed with a bucket of water. Negative thoughts start racing inside my head and it's hard to overcome rumination about things happened in the past and everything that may happen today, tomorrow, next week, next month, in a year etc. All at once. Won't stop for the whole day. Can't focus on anything. And then I can't sleep until very late at night. Stress eating was a huge problem, I would snap, break down and eat everything in the fridge at 10-11pm and then hate myself. Fasting helps me a lot to discipline myself and gives me clarity for when I want to focus and get things done.

I've watching your videos for years Dr Berg and to be honest, I see you as a hero in coping with haters and spammers, yet they do that because they're jealous of your success, and simply see you as a threat to their pharma industry, since you're giving all these useful info for free to the public. If ordinary people like us have enemies, needles to say that someone who is famous and successful like you will have them; for sure, Thanks Dr Berg for your lovely content always ☺️

The #1 thing that helped me was closing all my social media accounts and I officially stopped watching the news daily. I control my stress and not let it control me. I almost forgot this one is #1 too, distance and/or REMOVE yourself from negative people. It may be true, but just think if you have health problems, you gotta consider the main cause might be who you are married to/love relationship aka fake relationships, and also fake friends.

@Cd absolutely!!! And, let's not forget - fake family...fake parents. For some people, that is a thing...but it's almost like a taboo in both East and Western culture though Russian Literature with their mastery on realism does their part of making us aware that there are many unfortunate ones I'll-fated with that painful curse. To all those out there who are going through such in secrecy, please do not cancel Hope and....when you feel TRUE LOVE, and you most certainly will, embrace it.

I have never been a morning person, literally since I was born. School was a torture for me. I have no idea how could I get up before 6am, and then travel on public transport for more than one hour. But I remember sometimes waking up hurt so bad that it felt like a physical pain. On the other hand I also get very active in the evening and the night, I am the most productive at these time. However, I did notice that my brain is sharper in the morning, but usually for those tasks which I do not want to do, and not even interested in. I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was already an adult, which explained a lot. I play several instruments, and I also sing. So I only wanted to say, that not being a morning person, can be normal.

Now to be a morning person for me means "early at night..." like 3am in the morning. For the afternoon person, being a morning person often means sleeping light or not very much the night before. You are also more alert and focused in the quietness of the night/dark morning when most people are asleep.

Wow explains alot! 32 years old and feel 80! Have alot of health issues im battling. Have TBI and PTSD from severe abuse and alot of other truma in my life.. one trauma after another..also was told I was lucky to be alive. Doctor told me I was in the stages of death the day I got away from my abuser. I was 19 when they told me I had fibromyalgia and doc said I got it young because of the trauma I went through..that it onset it early..its been doctor after doctor. Started when I was 18-19. Now 32 and starting to get answers. Also had brain surgery few years ago for chiari malformation. Had carpal tunnel surgery this past november on my wrist and elbow. And other surgeries as well…Have tendinitis as well and arthritis and osteopenia. Mild scoliosis too. Thyroid enlarged, difficulty swallowing, sever pain all the time..symptom list goes on and on as well.. wont get into all..And now I was just told that I for sure have autoimmune disorder possibly lupus but im getting sent to a specialist to find out exactly and to have more test done etc. gosh the list goes on and on…I feel like a lab rat. Just had to start giving myself B12 injections as well. But basically all this got bad once I got out of the abuse when I was younger. It was like as time went on I felt myself getting sicker and sicker and I couldnt get doctors to listen to me. They said stuff like “oh your too young to feel that way” ummm…no crap!!! Thats why im trying to seek help! I just wish I could get a break from everything..My life has always been so much stress! My biggest downfall is that im too nice and let people take advantage of it. Doing better latley but theres just so much stuff that gets thrown at me and most the time Its out of my control wich doesnt help lol anyways…just trying to stay positive through it all. Not always easy but just taking day by day! And I am glad I came across this video..very helpful! Sorry for the rant..lol it was just very eye opening! I knew stress played a big factor in our health but I didnt know it did this much! 😮

And I was also in some very stressful situations. Thanks to Dr. Berg's videos I greatly changed my eating habits and the people that were in my life causing me stress became less as well ,praise God🙌 funny thing is sometimes you can love certain people so much your willing to overlook the stress they cause you. And sometimes you yourself can be so selfish and blind you don't see the stress you can cause others. Its all a balancing act. But the right food , and the proper understanding ( and the help of some "good" caring Dr.s) can help you to cope and or heal🌄

Thank you, Dr. Berg! This was extremely informative and enlightening! I have felt that my job is severely impacting my health, especially over the last several years. As a teacher, I experience chronic stress all day long, every single day. At age 29, I suddenly developed asthma & allergies, in my 30's hypothyroidism, at age 48 I became prediabetic, age 49 I had shingles, age 50 endometrial cancer, age 51 idiopathic hypersomnia, and age 52 subacute cutaneous lupus. I am currently 53 years old. I noticed most of my health problems increased during the pandemic years. For the past 4 years, I have been teaching at a private, Christian school. With the exception of March 16-June 6, 2020, my school system insisted on being open at 100% during the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years. However, in my county and state the majority of schools were in hybrid models. The stress was almost unbearable. Even when I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, my school system forced me during Covid to be at school with zero accommodations. For example, I asked to switch my duty, which was lunch duty where I had to be in our cafeteria with over 200 students without a mask on, to a bus duty. My school refused to even switch my duty. The stress has continued to this year, even though the pandemic is over. Because we were open at 100% during the pandemic, our enrollment soared because parents were searching for a school open every day for their child to attend. I teach students with special needs at the high school level. I am the only special needs teacher at my school. My caseload went from 54 students to 89 students with zero extra help, not even an assistant. I love teaching and my students. But, the stress is more than taking a toll. I started teaching at age 29 and have been teaching for almost 2 decades. I did switch jobs for a few years but came back to teaching. Switching careers at this point is very scary. However, I do think about it every single day. I am going to try everything you suggest. I love your videos! The information you provide is enormously informative and helpful! I am learning so much from you! Thank you for teaching us about our bodies, our health, and how we can live healthier and happier lives. I am very grateful to you for your hard work! Thank you tremendously!

Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹 List on-going, unresolved issues and ending then, one way or another, regardless of whether it's one's desired outcome or not, is still an END to the issue, and one can move on in life. A slightly different point: 14 months ago, I ended a 2yr10mth toxic relationship with my covert narcissist ex-girlfriend.. INSTANT relief! Never got hooked back in, moved on. Depression and anxiety ended immediately.. but.. the constant 'emotional war-zone' stress left its mark. BP is 170/105 (stage 2 hypertension) but I 100% quit social smoking (20 per week) two months ago, cut 90+% of all sugar intake, far fewer carbs and growing into keto and IF. I saw a Dr Berg video on cold turkey quitting and it can lead to high BP etc. I have no urges to smoke either. Hm.. I'm able to run daily for 45mins though and refuse to be just another 'big-pharma cash cow bit@h'..sorry, that's precisely how we are looked at and treated. Ending as much on-going background stress as possible. Taking responsibility as much as possible for as many things as possible is a great way forwards.
