This is such a tiresome attitude. Its like the scientists who thought that Newton's laws and classical mechanics were as complicated as the universe would ever get. They couldn't imagine anything further, so they just assumed there was nothing further. And then relativity happened, and then QM, along with similar revolutions in biology. For all we know the laws of physics are semistable and neutrinos can interact with matter under certain conditions that we have yet to understand. Are you really so arrogant to think it is impossible? Since when were you the designer of the universe to know this? Its just such an arrogant and unjustifiable position to take, and so tiresome to read

I never realized just how silly the premise was for this movie. A quantum physicist claims that a particle, a fundamental aspect of our reality, has mutated so that when it passes through stuff, it starts heating them. First and foremost, as far as science is concerned, the only particles that change themselves are quantum in origin and that’s just not how it even works. Second of all, the neutrino is stated to be heating up the earths core, meaning that, the neutrinos are carrying that heat the moment they hit our planet. Our surface should’ve been fried before the core started overheating. In order for it to cook the planets core it would also need to be carrying a non-significant amount of energy, which allows it to pass through the earth without losing too much energy. That amount of energy for a particle is absurd. Again, it would just devastate the surface before we even noticed its effects underground. Just another instance of people throwing “quantum” at a problem in writing to get the plot rolling

@@hectordiaz1575 Well it does kind of intend to. Otherwise it wouldn't come up with a scientific explanation. Several stories about impossible things work perfectly fine without a scientific explanation and exist in the absence of one. The Age of Miracles has the earth's rotation slowing and it's never explained yet it's a great book. My point is that he didn't really need a scientific explanation.

The most unbelievable part of this movie isn't the fact that neutrinos are suddenly physically affecting stuff. Its that somehow the combined governments of the US, Europe, and China were working on this project for three years and they managed to keep it a secret from the public until just days before it hit the fan. That would leak within months. The sudden funneling of funds and personnel couldn't be hidden. Also sidenote, if they just told the public, they could have pooled the entire global economy into it and built thousands of ships instead of just a few. They could have saved millions.

@wnose but the lab itself can be at the surface. The instruments are the only necessary things that need to be buried deep underground, then they could just wire it up to the monitoring station on the surface

Why the hell they ask for money here? If the world is coming to an end and there're only few thousands of people surviving after that, money is just literally useless paper at that moment lmao

People would get suspicious when literally billions in tax and public money suddenly vanished from the economy, that’s why they needed private investors so not to arouse suspicions.

This is not a movie where the science is intended to make any sense. You're meant to shut your brain off for this and the director/producer knew it.

Ultimately - we might not have faced a lot of things that happened since 2012 and we might have a different set of priorities. Hmm! Although highly fictional, this film has the insight to speculation.

Sadnam acent was not like original and whole screen about india and that taxie driver are not matching plus that song in taxie are so bad . West and Hollywood just show india bad side it's poverty it's helplessness and dirty streets. Never except them show gloryus side of india like they did with china.

There are many unbelievable things happening all along the movie, comprising universal laws being distorted. But when we see politicians react promptly to a scientific report and act in a logic and responsible manner, the movie loses all credibility.
