It’s more ironic if you know that suit was Kirkman’s original design for Mark until he later settled on the suit we have now. Mark’s original hero name was actually going to be “Bulletproof”, since Kirkman wanted a name that showed the character was tough or couldn’t be hurt which also later led him to the name “Invincible”.

For me, that was the best way to start season because of two things: 1. They tricked us 4 times that they gonna roll the title card, but they didn't until the end 2. The title card it self turns from yellow&blue to Omniman's blood costume only to get blue wall cracks on it

Everyone mistakes poor Shapesmith for a sequid; as we were shown back in season one Martians are humanoids who can sapeshift, while sequids are small creatures - not originally native to Mars - that become intelligent (and a hive mind able to control all the sequids in the vicinity) when they attach themselves to a humanoid, whom they gain control of; they _can't_ shapeshift (as the Martians demonstrated, their shapeshifting ability serves as a defence against being taken over by sequids). As we saw back in season one (and in the flashback here), one of the astronauts that went to mars got taken over by a sequid, which probably spelled doom for Mars, as now it could control all other sequids in the planet; we don't know at this point when or how the Martian who's calling himself Shapesmith supplanted that astronaut, or if he had anything to do with him being taken over, but he clearly took the opportunity to hitch-hike a ride to Earth, where he appears to have been mostly harmless so far.

@@jsonkody I think she definitely mistook Shapesmith for the Sequids, because she said, "No he's gonna try and take the planet over." as Shapesmith was telling his "backstory". Shapesmith was a part of a small group of Martians who didn't believe what their leaders were saying about the sequids about them being conquerors but that their leaders were just using them for slave labor. So a plan was made that when capturing the 4 human astronauts a single Martian (Shapesmith) would trade places with one of the astronauts and go back to earth in their place while also leaving the real one behind on Mars so a Sequid could have a host. Unfortunately their leaders were telling the truth about the Sequids as they damn near easily decimated the Martians, and if events follow what was shown in the comics they will soon be on their way to Earth. Shapesmith's involvement in the Sequid's plan to conquer Earth was completely unintentional, but he's definitely largely to b;ame for them being on Earth eventually.

Just so you know, the mars guy that is on earth is just a random martian that wanted to get to earth. The things you see that are happening on mars are just the consequenzes of his doing. He changed into one of the astronauts which led to the actual astronaut being infected by a sequid and then were able to take over since they had a host

The martian imitated the human astronaut and got taken back to Earth instead of the real astronaut. They would NOT have left him behind. Sequids can't take over the Martians normally b/c of their shapeshifting, but BECAUSE the human astronaut got left behind BECAUSE of the martian's actions, they were able to use him as a host, which allowed them to organize and create a hive mind, and then invade & take over the planet. And now they're going to invade Earth. All because of that one martian's curiosity.

Season 2 started off really well, and the twist to show a parallel universe where Mark followed his father and fulfilled his mission, which is surreal and eerie to watch as we can only base our fear of what Mark could've become if he went down a darker path and apparently our Mark is one of the only versions of him that stays good, which gets explored later in the comics and ideally in future seasons of the show. I love the deep look into Mark's psyche and mental struggle of trying so hard not to be his father and yet still feel the weight and consequences of his father's actions, as shown with the new Nighthawk and Atlanteans. Debbie also goes down a tragic depression that's truly sad to watch. Really excited that Part 2 of Invincible is set to release really soon.

Night City is directly based on Gotham City, specifically the version from Batman The Animated Series, hence the red backgrounds for everything. It's also one of the most horrific concepts in the entire series: The US Government declared the city a no-man's land because they couldn't save it, and have just... LEFT it there for years.

So, in the comic the Antantian queen did try to uphold the custom of marriage with Mark tho he did find a way out of it in pretty hilarious fashion. It was pretty well written but I guess I can see why they changed it for the show.

You should definitely watch The Boys. It’s a great series about superheroes who are super but aren’t exactly heroes. They are flawed characters and the show has very good writing. It’s similar to Invincible in the way that its main character is a very powerful man and it shows how reality would be if superheroes existed. Hope you see this ❤

So. I'm going to be "that guy" for just a moment to make a clarification (because even Hollywood who - is supposed to have intelligent writers - makes the same mistake). It's Alternate Reality, not alternate Dimension. No two Dimensions are the same. Unlike different realities, Dimensions are very finite and very few. Realities are virtually infinite. Here's an example: In Doctor Strange he visits the Dark Dimension which is Home to the being Dormamu. It is completely different to OUR dimension meaning that certain laws of physics are different or don't even apply; such as Time. In The Multiverse of Madness they start in another dimension where they try to get the book. Alternate Dimensions will never appear even remotely like reality because reality is actually different. Alternate realities are exactly that. It's the same place and time, just under different circumstances

Shapesmith isn't the Sequid, the sequid took over the real Rus Livingston and is still taking over Mars, while Shapesmith was a Martian who swapped places with Rus to go live on Earth. Shapesmith really is just an innocent lil' fella that's just a little dull and awkward. Also with Mark saying to Night Boy that he was Omni-Man's son, and that he had no idea what he was capable of, yeah that was a bit, a gamble, to scare the shit out of Night Boy so that instead of leaving Mark in the shadowverse to be either trapped forever or get eaten by the things that live there he'd instead pull both of them out of there back to Earth. Also, yeah if I were Mark, just barely starting to heal from what happened to me and assholes like Night Boy kept holding the "Omni-Man's son" shit over my head and punishing me for it I wouldn't be too kind either, particularly after I'd tried nicely twice to ask him to stop doing that, to no avail. Thats completely understandable, and not at all making a poor case for him not being like his father. He doesn't owe psychopaths like that his kindness when he never asked for any of this to happen and tried to stop his father when it happened only to keep getting compared to him repeatedly and even targeted for being his father's son by selfish pricks that only think about their own feelings and don't give a shit about Mark's or even about Mark in general as a person.
