They difference themselves from the Chasseurs of the Old Guard mostly by their red epaulettes (Chasseurs' are green)

errm,sorry for the late correction but those were young guard voltigers at 5:53,no middle guard units were present in this battle,the middle guard chasseurs have their full dress uniform as their model in ntw3 not the great coat one and they are also different(also middle guard chasseurs have red and green plume on their shako with red and green epaulettes,they also have white facings with dark blue coat and dark blue pants)

Pretty sure deeper lines only help when charging (charge bonus). Their base morale never gets higher than their default unless inspired. I never use more than 4 ranks and you get more firepower that way but it depends if your a melee army or a shooty one
