Aman Tauqir base on my experienced. Using products for hyperpigmentation/ melasma/ old acne scars, it doesn’t work like magic and our skin reacts to the products differently. So I advice you to try it out and use it consistently if you see improvements. I recommend, azeliac acid, retinol, vitamin C serum, niacinamide, I used derma roller for my old acne scars..

LOVE this video and it came at such a perfect time as I'm trying to fade hyperpigmentation from picking at my acne. I wish you would suggest a skincare routine with these products, that would be great! Like one for oily, one for dry, sensitive... Thanks Cassandra. You're amazing! I have binge watched all your videos. So informative!
@CassandraBankson5 жыл бұрын
Aysha BR Hello beautiful and thank you so much for the request! I’m so happy you enjoy this video and then it came at a good time. Generally, I would recommend adding these in as the actives, as long as they don’t interfere with anything else in your routine! If I were to build a routine for those with pigmentation issues, would you want it to be brand specific, meeting just for using the ordinary products, or would you like other, and potentially better brands, mixed in with some of the recommendations found here? How price sensitive are you? All of this would be helpful information and I would be more than happy to consider!

Hi there, I know you have a lot of these to answer but I was wondering if you know which products would be good to use together AM and PM for melasma. Also, I live in the desert and have REALLY dry skin all the time and I'm old (44), hence fine lines. I used a routine that I emailed Deciem about but I feel like it turned my super dry. So far, AM I use micellar water>alpha arbutin 2%HA>niacinamide10%/zinc1%>magnesium ascorbyl phosphate10%>B oil> and a mixture of B oil mixed in to CeraVe moisture cream (I'm parched). PM is glycolic acid 7% toner>Granactive retinoid 2% emulsion>rosehip seed oil>and my CeraVe B oil mixture again. I switch weeks on the PM and use micellar water, alpha arbutin 2%HA, vitamin C suspension with HA spheres 2% and my lotion mix. In the AM on those weeks I use micellar>marine hyaluronics>buffet> CeraVe mix. I just don't feel like anything is working on my spots. I have dark splotches and white splotches intermingled with the dark on my cheeks only. It's pretty annoying and I've tried everything and been living with it for YEARS. I've seen most of your videos and I'm really trust your input. Please help if you can. Thanks!!! Oh, I use CeraVe AM sunscreen every day too.

@@CassandraBankson Thanks for getting back to me! I only just started creating a real skincare routine for the first time in my life it feels, so I have no idea what to do. I was wondering how to add them in and avoid interference with my differin gel, or vitamin c, or buffet peptide solution, or niacinamide. I use a lot of the ordinary products, mainly because I like the price range, but I think for me anything under the $20 would be great. A lot of people I've met, including myself, are in the same situation: in their late 20s, and wondering if we deal with ageing (I already have lines of my forehead!), acne, hyperpigmentation, texture... it feels like we need to do it all, and how do we do that without our products "cancelling each other out" with their pHs and whatnot.

Would you mind explaining super fast Which other The Ordinary products would you recommend NOT mixing with these 3 and which ones SHOULD be mixed as it will make the products work better? Im afraid of causing a bad reaction
@CassandraBankson5 жыл бұрын
TEN hey absolutely! Great question. For the first product with l ascorbic acid, you should avoid mixing it with products that have water. Unfortunately, water can easily degrade L ascorbic acid can become easily oxidized into something called dehydroascorbic acid, this mainly happens in the body but it can also happen when you apply it on your skin. Not the end of the world, but it renders the product less useful. Make sure that your skin is completely dry when you’re applying, and make sure that you are not putting on a water-based moisturizer after. Additionally, the vitamin C works best in a low pH, so I do you only using something like a glycolic acid before hand to prep the skin would help it penetrate nicely. For the lactic acid, it is a beautiful ingredients and it is water soluble, so avoid putting it on top of any oil’s. You can definitely use oil’s afterwards. Because it is very powerful, I would also recommend avoiding any other acids, such as salicylic or glycolic, just to make sure your skin can handle it. Once you’ve built up a tolerance it should not be a problem For the magnesium ascorbic phosphate, this is a really great form of vitamin C. It’s actually very stable because of the silicone and can really be used wisely! It is best used alongside a sunscreen because of the way they complement each other. If you are using a benzyl peroxide in your routine, try to avoid using a vitamin C at the same time. Just because the benzyl peroxide can destroyer the vitamin C and make them both useless. I really hope this helps! Also, please excuse any grammatical errors! Using voice dictation to type this on my phone so apologies for anything that Siri misspelled

I love your videos. I purchased lactic acid and alpha arbutin before watching this based on a lot of research and another one of your videos. I have dark spots due to acne and the few changes I have made are working very well. You're a lifesaver.

Hey Cassandra! Could you give us your opinions on Kojic acid? I have heard the soap is really good for hyperpigmentation but I am a bit hesitant to purchase and wondering how to incorporate this product with the aha’s I already use in my routine

I love all the info you give to us, thank you! It would be so helpful if you would put the name of the product your talking about on the screen so I can pause and write it down. Sometimes I will replay and replay but I still can’t get the name of the product. Again thank you for all the great info!

Does lactic acid help with hyperpigmentation around the mouth?
@saweramohammad34485 жыл бұрын
I was wondering that too. I thought lactic acid is a quite big molecule so work more so on the surface, compared to salicylic acid which penetrates deeper (and glycolic is in between). I don't know what causes hyperpigmentation around the mouth and how deep in the layers it is though

sofi shrestha hey dear! Yes, it should! If it is indeed hyperpigmentation, all of these active ingredients should help.Xo

Just learned this last week from your other video. I have hypopigmentstion. I think from the 5 yrs I used tretinoin & didn’t use sunscreen. Ever. Not even on the lake all day 😫 I thought if I wasn’t burning it was ok. And I looked so pretty tan! Man I wish I had a time machine... Been using glycolic acid awhile now. Just applied the ascorbic acid for second time. 🤞🏼

How and when to use these products.Should all 3 be used together one after the other? Also I thought niacinamide would be on the list since it helps with hyperpigmentation.

Hi, can you please let me know If its effective to fade the wound scars on face ?
@CassandraBankson5 жыл бұрын
Preet Dhaliwal hello and thank you so much for your comment! What a great question. To be honest, it depends on your skin type, as well as the type of scar - is the scar raised and purple? Is it flat and silver? Is it in dented? Many scars start off purple or pink as they are healing, and turn white over time. Have other scars on your body done this? Either way, one of the best things you can do for a new scar is keep it hydrated Dash some oils with nice antioxidants can really help! The ordinary has some inexpensive ones, but some other great brands are wander beauty, the inky list, and even Murad. Juice Beauty also has some good ones!! Once the scar has set in and fully healed, you can start doing other treatments for it, such as micro needling or micro dermabrasion. Please keep in mind that a professional should evaluate your skin before doing these treatments, as they can cause the condition to worsen if done on the wrong skin type. I really hope that this helps! PS, using my phone to voice dictate this answer so I apologize if there are any spelling or grammatical errors!

Do you have a video on retinol and if it's good or bad for the skin and should you wear it during the day or night? Haven't seen one and I watch you often, love you My Butterfly🦋

Can we use all three products after one another? Or do we alternate them by days? I don't wanna damage my skin from combining them.

Do these work for post acne red marks or just dark brown spots??
@CassandraBankson5 жыл бұрын
Riya Patel Hey gorgeous amazing question! The truth is that it doesn’t depend on the color, but it depends on the cost. If the skin is having a pigmentation response, then yes that should work. If the red spots are caused by something else, such as broken capillaries or an allergy, then you would want to look at ingredients that work better for vascular problems, such as rosacea. Happy to do a video on that in the future if you would like. I hope this helps!

@isidorazoric67814 жыл бұрын
what order are you using with those products? i understand that you use peeling solution once a week, but with niacinamid and alpha arbutin, what do you put first? or do u use one in the morning one in the eving? and how is that working for you so far?💖
