Cain was already afraid of other human beings, that were in the world and they were not his siblings. Remember, Cain was banished from the presence of the Lord. Meaning the other humans were not anywhere near Cain and his parents. Unless, they were already banished also, then that would indicate they did something as grievous as Cain (Murder). The other part would be why would Cain be afraid of getting killed if he was the first murderer. In other words the other people should have no concept of what killing is. I can't bring myself to believe in this story, of Adam and Eve being the parents of all humanity, as there is too many plot holes in it.

This has been my question for quite a few decades. If Adam and Eve were sent away from the garden (a perfect world) perhaps they were placed in a world which was already populated with other creations? And why, if they didn’t even know what sin or discipline was, were they treated so harshly? Unless we find the gate guarded by angels, we won’t know ever. I find this extremely unfair. This answer isn’t good enough, we do t know for sure that Adam and Eve had “many” or “numerous” offspring, all we know is they had “other” children, now Seth was born 130 years into Adams life and after Cain and Abel. We have no idea how long Adam and Eve were in the garden but even a if you say 100 years of “multiplying” that’s not enough to form an entirely different settlement to the east. And why would they leave and head east away from such immediate family? Sometimes ignoring logic to fit scripture is just blind. This suggestion as to where Cain’s wife came from may be a bit lengthy, but please read it. Thank you. As recorded in Genesis 1:27, on the sixth day of creation, God “created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.” As recorded in the very next verse, verse 28, God said to them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth…” Even though in the first chapter it is says that “male and female created He them,” in the second chapter, after God had already commanded the man not to eat of the “tree of the knowledge of good and evil,” is when it is recorded that God “made He a woman.” That shows there was some period of time between when God “formed man of the dust of the ground” and when He “made woman.” But it’s back in the first chapter where God commanded them, “Be fruitful, and multiply.” This plainly reveals that all that’s recorded is not in perfect chronological order. At the end of the second chapter, all it says is “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” Even though from the time of Adam’s creation when God had put him in the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it, then there came the time when God had commanded that he not partake of the forbidden tree of the knowledge of good and evil or he would surely die; then Adam had the time to give names all the cattle, to all the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field, following all that is when woman (Eve) was made, after which is when God must have given them His second command, “Be fruitful and multiply.” As recorded, there was some time between Adam’s creation and when Eve was made, but there is no record of how long it was before we come to the events recorded in the third chapter. There is no valid reason to believe they did not obey God’s second command to have children as soon as they were capable of gestation. Depending on how long it had actually been, with a normal maturation age of thirteen or fourteen years, over a period of eighty years there could have been as many as five or six generations of descendants, with children being born of each woman every year if so desired, since before what occurred in the third chapter there was no excessive pain in childbirth. And in those early years of being fruitful and multiplying there could have been no problem of intermarrying because there would be no other way at that time, to multiply. And again, before what occurred in the third chapter when Eve, and Adam after her, partook of the forbidden tree, and by one man sin entered into the world, all those born were born sinless, and thereby would have been “sons of God.” But that’s another subject. So, now we come to the fourth chapter, which is recorded the events leading up to the time when Cain went out from the presence of the Lord after he had slain his brother Abel, and married his wife in the land of Nod. This is where the birth of any of Adam and Eve’s children is first recorded. The bible doesn’t say so, but this doesn’t mean they had had no other children before that. In fact, at the end of chapter four, following when Cain had slain his brother, and he had married his wife in the land of Nod, the first recorded age of Adam after that had occurred was when Eve bares him another son, Seth, whom God appointed as another seed instead of Abel. Adam’s age at that time, as recorded in chapter 5, verse 3, was 130. Again, the bible doesn’t say so, but there’s no valid reason to believe that Adam and Eve had sinned just before their first children were born, and then it was 130 years before Cain slew Abel because he was wroth over his offering not being accepted by God, when Abel’s had been. So, in summary, with all that transpired before what occurred in chapter 3, even though not recorded, Adam was more than likely around 80 or 90 years of age when “the fall of man” occurred. That would allow for Cain and Abel, who are Adam’s first recorded children following his fall, to be around 40 or 50 years old when that tragic event occurred. These hypothetical ages are flexible, but when studying the many published biblical history timelines, what is conjectured is in no way contradictory or an exclusion of any event as biblically recorded. This is true and found in the Apocrypha. Eve first had first set, which was Abel and a girl. Then she had second set, Cain and another girl. The Edenites were so vastly different from the "sons of God" that Cain was terrified they would kill him on sight, so that God had to give him special protection. In Genesis 1 the male and female "men" were created at the same time. In Genesis 2 the man is "moulded", then the garden is planted, the animals and birds are given to him and only THEN is the woman "built" from a part of the man's anatomy ... and there are people who try to convince me that the two chapters narrate the same event!
