As Walt cleans up the mess that was left following his first drug deal, Skyler’s getting too close to the truth about his double life forces him to consider telling her the truth about his illness.

Season One - Episode Three: "...And the Bag's in the River"
Episode Description:
Walt and Jesse clean up last week's mess and Walt must face holding up his end of the deal. Walt's DEA agent brother-in-law, Hank (Dean Norris), warns Walt, Jr. (RJ Mitte) about the dangers of drugs.
Episode Overview:
As Walt is hard at work helping Jesse clean up the mess that was once Emilio, Skyler’s cryptic inquiries lead Marie to conclude that Walt, Jr. is smoking pot. Though Skyler insists that her questions are just research for a story she is writing, her sister doesn’t believe it and asks Hank to have a talk with Walt, Jr. As the clean up proceeds, Krazy-8 tells Walt that Jesse has revealed some potentially compromising details about his life. But when Walt complains about his lack of discretion, Jesse angrily reminds him that he is responsible for seeing that Krazy-8 disappears for good.
Reluctantly agreeing to scare his nephew straight, Hank takes Walt, Jr. for a firsthand view of the drug culture. While Walt, Jr.’s reaction isn’t quite what Hank had been hoping for, their ride-along comes close to exposing Jesse and his meth-addict prostitute/girlfriend. Meanwhile, forced to admit that he’s been living a lie, Walt puts off any further discussion with Skyler so he can deal with Krazy-8. But after Krazy-8 tries taking advantage of his compassion in order to escape, Walt has no choice but to kill him.
As Walt calls in sick at school and Jesse heads home to see what ever became of their hostage, Hank’s search for a missing informant guide him and his partner to evidence that could lead them to the mobile drug lab. So, as his DEA agent brother-in-law gets close to uncovering the truth about what happened to Krazy-8 and Emilio, Walt heads home to tell Skyler that he is dying of cancer.

incredible how much you can do with hairstyle, acting and lighting to make someone look 20 years younger without any CGI

Are you sure there wasn't CGI involved? They made Gretchen look very youthful here. Brilliant writing though, juxtaposing the scenes of Walt and Gretchen musing over what makes a human being, and Walt and Jesse disposing of Emilio's dissolved remains.

To be fair it's also because Cranston has aged remarkably well, his facial structure hasn't changed in the slightest, he only looks older in the hairline and facial wrinkles. Even Jesse towards Season 5 had aged dramatically in terms of his face shape, that never happened with Cranston.

there wasnt a fallout with gretchen or elliot, Vince Gilligan said the reason Walt left the company (aswell as when walt left gretchen's house after meeting her family for the first time without saying a word) was because his ego didn't like how Gretchen was rich and basically could have anything from that wealth, hence why he chose skyler instead and chose to be a school teacher.

@@kungfuverde1 That would be cliche and not speak to Walter’s self-fulfilled insecurities which is what drives him. The whole point of what makes Walter evil is not that the world is out to get him. He was not wronged. He is a victim of his own sensitivity, spinelessness and fragile ego. It makes Walt a MORE interesting and complicated character that he wasn’t cheated on. What an easy excuse that would be. He has no real justifiable reason for his outward anger. It is all his own doing.
@kungfuverde1
@kungfuverde1 2 жыл бұрын
@@Absurdword Still prefer my version. A lot more realistic. You want me to believe he left a company that had the potential to be really huge, and he knew it, all cause of his ego? I don't buy that. If he was betrayed by the other two partners and was morally forced to leave it despite him not wanting to, that makes a ton more sense.

I know this phrase has been played out to the edges of the universe and is mostly subject to ridicule now, but I truly believe this is where Walt became Heisenberg and it’s sad cause Gretchen unknowingly played a part. Walt breaks down the human body, piece by piece and Gretchen gives him a hypothetical last piece, which is the soul. That’s why I believe it was so easy for Walter to kill after killing Krazy 8. The soul was just a piece of biology to him. Logical, scientific and cold; just like Heisenberg

I love this scene. Says alot without saying it. Walt and Gretchen definitely had a thing. Somewhere there was a falling out of sorts and Gretchen married Elliot and they went on to make billions off of Walt's genius. Hence the resentment from Walt.

He fully ghosted Gretchen after meeting her family even though they were planning to get married, because apparantly Walt always had been an egomaniac and couldn't handle the fact that her family was rich. She never understood why he left her and ended up marrying the next person she got in a relationship with, Elliot. Walt sold his own shares of the company for 5k before it blew up and Gretchen and Elliot ended up becoming rich. If BB was written to be from literally any other character's pov, Walt would be recognized as an insane egomaniac that likes to victimize himself. Walt was never wronged by any of them. They remained nice to him when they had no obligation to do so and he still resented them for his own mistakes. He brought everything onto himself.

Just my opinion here... If they were analysing a body, there's got to be water inside it. And if there's water, some part of that water might have evaporated during the analysis, which results in the decrement of the Hydrogen and Oxygen value. And also a body oxygen level changes continuously due to respiration.
