Most Folks think the collard sandwich is a Lumbee, Robeson County NC original. False it can be traced back to the 1700's. The Gullah and Gechee people of the Low Country of SC.

I’m Lumbee and I don’t know of single Lumbee who believes our tribe are the original creators! Within the first 30 seconds of this video, they literally stated they didn’t know anyone else who made them, but their very well could be someone already making them, but they didn’t know about it! smh!
