The old stuff was made to last but they were also more expensive if you consider inflation. We actually work less hours nowadays to buy the same stuff because most companies reduced the quality of their products to produce more units of the same thing, but of course, it impacts durability. It's kinda bad because things don't last as before but that's how people who couldn't afford stuff in the past get to buy it nowadays. Awesome Video

It's an SCPH-1001 with a fake label. The obvious signs are (1) it has a US style polarized power connector (2) At 4:40 you can see the fuse rating warning label - which is only on US machines (3) At 5:22 you can see that X202 is 53.693 MHz - correct for NTSC machines, but not for PAL (4) At 5:34 you can see the build code on the CD MCU - which is 2021 (V2.1, NTSC:U/C) - the input filter cap has also been changed to 400V 47uF to allow operation on 220V.

It is very similar to when electronic devices are suddenly found in the mud. More blackness could have been added to the board, given how heavily the capacitor smoked. They leave more black and effects with less smoke, I think this is a disadvantage of the video, otherwise it's quite a cool video.
