Sean Sands : More or less. They briefly made him forcibly resurrected and reprogrammed to infiltrate the autobots. He was basically a zombìe (a zombot?), but despite being basically a mind controlled undead he somehow was able to fight the control and saved everyone again despite being a barely self-aware walking corpse. Great episode. Then they resurrected him for good later on. Then he died permanently, tho, in the Headmaster series.

Shendue They brought him back permanently in the cartoon series. His body was saved but was infected by spores that made all who were in contact with them rage out of control. He was restored fully when he was given the matrix from Rodimus Prime who reverted back to Hot Rod after and Prime was once again leader

Same here, the TF Prime origin story seems to give Optimus some knowledge of the war that was to come, as opposed to just simply being a dock worker reformatted into an epic warrior and leader. Not hating on the G1 continuity at all, just think the Prime origin has a bit of a deeper and more serious backstory :)

Pretty much this is how the transformers were created: A guy called 'The one' (creator of the universe) created twins called Unicorn and Primus. (Evil & Good). They then fought and Primus sacrificed himself so that unicorn will be trapped. This didn't last long since he learnt how to to transform into a prison (cyber tron). Primus then followed him into cyber tron and created thirteen robots and one of them was the fallen.

Optimus is the main base of Transformers. Argue with me all you want, but that's my opinion. Every single time I watch RoTF, I always skip the forest battle. However, Orion Pax existed in what was known as the golden age of cybertron. Megatron and his cronies were one of the first who could fly. He, Soundwave and Ravage were the founders of the modern day decepticons.

They were friends in the Aligned-continuity (WfC, FoC and Prime). Optimus, or Orion Pax at the time, was a librarian who was worried about the political corruption of Cybertron, and he was fascinated by the words of a gladiator, Megatron, who later became a politician with many supporters, Soundwave being the first member. Orion and Megatron became friends and would at times refer to eachother as brothers.

Cybertron's core gave Optimus Prime the Matrix of Leadership when He, Ironhide and Warpath journeyed to the Core to remove the Corruptive and Lethal substance known as: Dark Energon. Megatron traveled to an ancient Space Station to retrieve the powerful weapon, no one had ever survived contact with Dark Energon but as former gladiator with a savage blood thirst for power and a evil Spark that lies within him Megatron could control the Dark Energon when he enter a containment chamber he infused his Decepticons as their birthright. Jetfire warned Megatron about the unstable power but Megatron never listened, that's when Starscream join his cause to return the planet to its "former glory" by helping re-activate the Energon Bridge to enable him to manufacture more Dark Energon. He planed to infuse it into the core he used war machines as dispersers. But he needed to Defeat Zeta Prime the Autobot commander who held a device to activate the Omega Gate Guardian: Omega Supreme who was the only one who could open the gateway to the core. Megatron defeated Omega Supreme by breaking through his armor and poured into Omega's chest and forced him to open the core. The core was too damaged by Dark Energon to sustain life on Cybertron in order to repair it self the core had to shut down for millions of years. As Orian Pax, Optimus was of Cybertron's archivists. he proved the courage and wisdom as a leader to take back Iacon city from Megatron and cleverly planned to be captured and sent to Kaon the Decepticon Capital City's Prison to when he heard Zeta Prime was captured. Optimus realized it was trap that Megatron set up. But Optimus set all the Autobots free and there by creating a Prison Riot as a diversion so he could rescue Zeta Prime but when Optimus had Soundwave defeated who was the Prisons Warden guarding Zeta Prime he was severely damaged and drained Zeta's life from him to repair himself Soundwave escaped and Zeta Prime was dead, Optimus brought Zeta Prime's body back to the high council where Optimus was given the title of the Last Prime. As long as the Matrix of Leadership surrvives so shall the core.

The Beast Wars Optimus Primal wasn't another incarnation of the original Optimus, he was a different Optimus altogether. He says so in the show. Plus, if he WAS the same Optimus, how could he absorb his own spark from the Matrix and change so drastically? If it was his own, original spark, it'd just fuse with his present one and nothing would have happened.

I have to say, even though the character himself is the same in all other series (with Peter Cullen that is.) I believe the best on besides G1 is the Aligned Optimus (War for Cybertron, Fall of Cybertron, Transformers Prime), it gave so much story of the past as well as the present, and Optimus was just that cool.

More importantly to go with Optimus Prime's epic action theme even though he's a true hero there are times where he has a series revenge plot where he plans to seek vengeance against his nemesis Megatron who killed his friend and comrade Jazz or other fallen autobot friend killed at the hands of Megatron. It's also pure badass due to his hatred of Megatron and his influence and epicness throughout the Transformers franchise and beef with the main villain Megatron is the best life, origins, and history is what's great and iconic about Optimus Prime and his popularity.

The Quintessons. They are aliens who found an organic world with the Matrix laying dormant on it, which had Primus's life force contained within it. They then took him out of the Matrix, and Transformed him into Vector Sigma. The took control of him, and used the key to do so (the key to Vector Sigma). They then used this ability to cyberform the planet, and making robots in the process. The robots took the planet over, and boom. That's how Transformers were made, in the G1 Japan story atleast.

thesnare100 I assume you are referring to Optimus Prime? That is the G1 Powermaster Optimus Prime you are talking about. Here in the U.S.A G1 comics, he went through the Powermaster upgrade after he died (and was obviously revived), and Hi-Q became his partner. In G1 Japan, however, he was in the cartoon. Although, it wasn't Hi-Q, it was another character who was a truck driver, and ended up using the Optimus Prime body basically. He also has the Apex Armor on the G1 Japanese figure.

Oh man, there were several. You have the Pre-Transformers Diaclone toy of him, pre rub G1, standard G1, Powermaster G1, Pepsi G1, Star Convoy, and I believe that G1 Powermaster Black Convoy came out then too. Either that, or they released that repaint later down the line. Also, G1 Ultra Magnus was a white repaint of the same G1 Optimus Prime mold, so I guess you could count him in too.

overall the Bay films did well in their "modern" redesigns of the Autobots. the Decepticons never looked right though mostly due to removing all their colors in favor of black and grey. like I wouldnt know Starscream was Starscream had Megatron not called him that. but anyway yes Optimus' design in that movie is good. it slims down his once overly boxy frame in favor of a more warrior type of build. the only thing i could take issue with is the flame decals but whatever right.

After Pax is rebuilt into Prime I noticed that Ironhide and Ratchet transformed into Earth vehicles. This is thousands of years before they went near Earth. In pre-Earth episodes the Decepticon jets transformed into space jet like vehicles which made more sense. One of many inconsistencies in the series. I wonder if Prime still turned into a truck before they left Cybertron? Something they never showed.

Can we also forget computer animation as a medium for telling the story of The Transformers. It might be cool and trendy doing everything and anything with computers, but some things just look better as a normal bit of hand drawn animation. Yeah it's probably more laborious and takes more effort but I think the end result is better.

G1 has a straightforward backstory. Prime and the Movies have tragic backstories. And Animated has a mythical backstory. I quite like Animated's take on it the most.

We had a 1982 Toyota pickup with a camper shell on the back, back when I was watching G1 as a preschooler. Man.... I always used to imagine that our Toyota would transform into Optimus and do something cool. Granted, it had brown paint (so much of the 80's and 70's had earth-tone colors as a motif on pretty much everything.... even fast-food logos...) but that didn't matter to me..... I was like: "YEAH! WE GOT A TRUCK! Hey, Dad.... press that over-drive thing near the steering wheel.... make it transform into Optimus Prime!" Again, I was a preschooler.... i didn't know wtf I was thinking!

It goes into a sub-space pocket. Seriously, that's the canon explanation from Gen-1. Spike (the human kid) actually asked him once. That's also where the Autobots (and presumably the Decepticons) store most of their hand-held weaponry, not to mention things like Optimus' Energon Axe and Megatron's Energon Flail.

Actually in the original toys for Beast Wars that were released (The Optimus Primal Bat and Megatron Alligator) the write up on the back claimed that they were G1 Prime and Megatron using smaller forms to conserve energy. They backtracked on it pretty quickly.

In the g1 series the Ark was crashed landed on Earth (and I bet the comics were the same) and in the movie series it was crashed on the Moon. Luke fenech, GET IT RIGHT!!!!!!! As I thought just going with the trend of Michael Bay sucks. Considering the amount of money his moviws gross at the box office on the first week and still holding strong a year later, you comment is unfounded and the numbers do not reflect your opinion. Now if you want to just be on a band wagon lets go with M. KNIGHT SHAMALAN, his movies only make on opening, if that. Great special effects and good plot till the climax. Which leaves you wanting more, like a one night stand gone wrong. Then we go to another one hoping the on movie clip was not the best scenes. Yet we are still left remenicing with his best movie. Althou mediocre itself, seeing dead people was not a bad movie, but maybe that was carried by the two lead actors. You see this is founded and not all hype in a box, having our own thoughts make us free of the media brainwashing. Thank you and heres to a conscience thought, cheers!
