@@peteshallcross787 Oh, anybody can still beat the Yankees, even though one would have to favor them. Yankees rotation is not particularly good, and their bullpen is pretty average. The rotation of KC is far deeper and bullpen is probably better. Yankees clearly have the better bats. Cleveland and Detroit both could beat the Yankees as well. They are not all that dominant.

2016 Royals didn't have Zobrist and Cueto from the trade from 2015. Yordano Ventura died in that offseason. Moustakas and Gordon ran into each other and were lost for the 2016 season. Gordon was never the same afterwards

What is a higher percentage to get an out. The force at 2nd or trying to stand up after diving to throw out the fastest guy down the line in baseball? They played bad fundamental baseball for 2 days. You should look at the charts that show the difference between the swinging strikes and the looking strikes. They are so lost at the plate they don't know their head from their ass. We have (hopefully had) not 1, not 2 but 3 hitting coaches and this is the offensive production we have seen since after the all star break. We were swinging at 3-1 pitches that were starting at the bottom of the zone, Not being aggressive early in the count and guessing late in the count. Swinging for the fences instead of shortening up and looking to poke one in the gap or go oppo. The last 2 at bats for the Os sums up the entire series. Henderson's last swing was pathetic.

Orioles' next play is to get healthy and let those young talents develop, their main stumbling point was that their pitching got decimated by injury and some of these young guys gotta turn into the players we all know they can be. They need to do something about the first round. Even the '27 Yankees lost 2 out of 3 in some series'. Giving a team three home games isn't enough to reward them for having a better season than the other guys. OTOH, it isn't fair to the next round opponent to sit idle for a week and lose their edge either.

As far as the HBP/SO on Cowser goes, I believe that MLB should reevaluate those instances. It's my feeling that the ball hit his hand before he swung at it. With that said a player should be awarded first base because the swing although it started actually occurred afterwards. There should be some thought given to that and maybe then it could be a challengeable play. I never experienced anything like that but it has be almost impossible to stop the swing because you are trying to protect yourself in that moment at all costs. Just my opinion.
