I asked the Hobby Lobby Cowboy Santa where the ork aisle was, and all he told me was "..bring to me the gubbins of thine enemies, strewn upon a decorative wreath in a well proportioned ratio of positive to negative spaces, then lightly season with 2lbs of artificial cinnamon and vanilla." It's possible I offered him two fiery dorito locos tacos and an Airheads Mystery Freeze instead by accident. Now I appear to be lost somewhere between the realms of My Little Pony paint by numbers and discount cakes supplies. Oh well, at least I have 3% battery left on my phone, just enough to watch one more ork crafting video. Which one though? You guys are both so awesome, gah.. 2%..

I've always wanted an Ork army, I love the DIY culture, the aesthetics, the jokes, and I think because they're so fun they're great for showing to new players to get them excited. As a kid I started a bunch of scratch builds for Ork vihicles and never finished them (I did that a lot for every army but the only ones I ever finished were for Guard since it was the army I played the most and I always felt more motivated because I could put them on the table more often) But, as I grew up and got a weird piece of paper that makes it so I can sell my labor for more money than I used to, I started to fall into the pit you describe of just buying models and messing with them rather than scratch building things. Anyway I just inherited an Ork army from my roommate and I'd been thinking of ways to spice it up with more pirate hats and shit, and this video made me realize I need to scratch build an Freebootaz pirate ship out of literal trash. Thank you for reminding me about the things I liked about this hobby as a kid. c:

I remember being on The Waaagh in the early 2000s and also being inspired by Krooza's designs. I even copied a few designs and had a few of my own posted at the time since I was a Deathskulls player, so building stuff off Leman Russ chassis was my jam. I dunno where Krooza is but I hope they see this. Merry Orkvember
