Painting the base rim is super simple and easy way to finish a model off! And, you can paint it any color you want… as long as it is black!

Great video !!! If I may, to protect your body-temple from insidious solvent vapors you must use a mask with cartridges designed specifically for solvents (terpentine, white spirit,etc) ! And latex gloves do protect but if you want your precious hands to be safe, nitrile based gloves are mandatory. (they're cancer-inducive-liquids-proof) I work as a house painter and I am prompt to be light-headed/high with solvents, that's the gear that I use when needed. Live long and prosper !

Thanks, the hobby tips really speak to the beginner hobbyist in me, and the existential nihilism speaks to my existential nihilism. Liked and Subscribed!

Chipping medium rules. Heck with these lads who use salt and weirdness, I just like the tools that are designed to do that thing.
@Sudo_Nimh4 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, and if you're worried about "frosting" from successive coats of matte varnish, you can use a gloss or satin varnish first. It's going to preserve your colors, especially the shininess of the metallic paints. I've heard some people call this a 'bullet coat' for some reason (probably a dumb one). Side effect being if you see a pokey corner of your model getting glossy you can matte it down again pretty easy in that spot.

Great vid! Glad I stumbled across your channel. You're gonna do very well, if you keep it up. Thanks for the tip of applying more matte varnish to get rid of dusting. I have a couple of frosty orks that I'm gonna try that on as soon as I get home.

As you are right handed, you may want to consider filming from the other side. Your arm blocks a lot of the view as you are making strokes etc. Just a thought!

Great and clear instructions, a cool model, and pretty good video considering how new you are to the whole thing. You've also convinced me to look into enamel paints. Great visuals AND they hurry me toward death's sweet embrace? Sold!

I want to start playing Kill Team. I planed to buy some Primaris as my first team like a basic bitch but after your Ork vids I´m not so sure any more. Even though I couldn´t use a Meka Dredd in Kill Team anyway.

Amazing work dude. GIVE ME MORE! Also, if you haven't messed with patreon or stuff yet, look into it. If we can subsidize your hobby to make it more useful to you and give you more time to do it, let us. Calling it now though, if you keep going, you're probably gonna be miniac/goobertown tier popular.

Also, get yourself an actual respirator. Alternatively, make another painting vid, send me your address, and I'll buy you one. Alzheimer's jokes are funny, but it's gonna stop being a joke real fast.

thanks man! i want to eventually if i feel like the channel is taking off enough, but i also want to make sure i'm in a place where i feel like i can give people something that's worth paying for first. either way, really appreciate it

@@billiondollarclownfarm I can respect that. You've already got a great product, and you absolutely have room to grow and improve it, but never feel bad about giving people the chance to invest. Cause paying it forward works just as well.

Have you tried one of the acrylic weathering effect paints (?) like Vallejo or others make? I've found those to be good at making grime, especially the rust and oil types, but generally need a little thinning and mixing with orange to really pop.

Great vid! Once forge world starts taking orders again, I plan on grabbing either a meka dread or mega dread (I keep flip flopping on which I want). Question for you; what size base did you use? I've read that it doesn't come with one, so I wanna snag one when I order it.
@billiondollarclownfarm4 жыл бұрын
I honestly forget what base size he's on, but I think it's a 120x95mm. In hindsight I actually might have put him on a 170mm so he the same footprint as a gorkanaut though. One of the 150mm buggy ones should be fine too.
