The way everyone has been talking, plus the way that the post-credit scene ended with literally the lights being turned off on the bridge, suggests to me that the show is really over. The only thing that could save it is a miracle on the order of the original Star Trek in 1967 or Chuck in 2009. It's possible, especially if a ton of people watch it when it moves to Disney Plus. But I don't think it's likely. And if not, at least we got a fun finale. I laughed more in this episode than I did all season. It made me happy.

I know the focus of this scene is Claire and John but it is especially sad for me to see Yaphit. If the Orville ever does get renewed for a 4th season, and I truly hope that it does because this show does sooo many things right that a lot of other sci-fi gets wrong, I don't know how they are going to handle Yaphit's character. On the one hand, the actor is dead and I hope they don't just try to gloss over that by recasting him and pretending that we don't notice. On the other, I don't want to see them just write the character off like he doesn't exist either.
