I loved Akane's character a lot she is the best girl for me even if you think she is crazy I think that is what made it appealing for me. She was ride or die type girl, very loyal and very smart. She did everything she could to save the twins even taking a knife in her belly to catch the Nino.I like Kana and all other characters. But Akane has a special place in my heart.

I think people didn’t like it because it wasn’t an entirely happy ending and was more bittersweet , but I think that’s fine. I never really went to this story expecting a truly happy end. I thought the ending was actually good and it was a solid culmination of the over all theme: that this is a world covered in fakes and lies, but through said lies we can inspire and love others. People also criticized that the ending didn’t “feel” like a finale and that the status quo wasn’t changed but I feel like that’s more realistic for this story. In the end, you can’t truly change everything (I mean look how things are in real life) but it’s entirely up to you to try to make it better for others and I think that’s what Aka was trying to do with Ruby for the ending. I also saw the story being about second chances, and how Aqua was able to give a lot of characters a second chance to improve themselves and live on (even if he had to be a martyr for that to work). But yeah, it’s not a perfect ending (and that’s fine) but I think it’s a good ending overall and I was left satisfied.

I'm glad I agree with this take. I loved the anime so I binged the manga over the past few days cause I heard it was ending and didn't wanna get spoiled. But I will say it does make me sad, especially the Kana funeral scene. It would have been nice to see him live a happy life. However, it does make sense in the end. Just found your channel great work man

Another thing is you are so right when you say people hate endings that dont go their way or aren't happy endings. This series is a sad sober dark look at the industry, and it makes sense that it doesn't end happily. Same with JJK not bringing characters back to life it wasn't made to be a perfect happy ending where everyone holds hands. MF's die and shit doesn't just magically get better just because the reader thinks they know better then the author

@@stalx8 I think the bigger problem is that fans nowadays are just too entitled. If a story doesn’t end the way THEY want it then it’s shit and they completely turn their backs on it without actually analyzing the story and seeing if the end actually makes sense to the context of the story (this applies to both JJK and MHA as well). Now imo I don’t think OnK’s ending is perfect and it definitely had its flaws and there some genuine criticisms, but i think the ending fits the theme of the story overall and the last chapter is very good. I can’t wait to see how the anime adapts the ending.

@Isukiri544 I completely agree. I don't believe the endings of ONK and JJK are without flaws but I do believe that they are solid endings to their respective stories even if they aren't exactly what I would have wanted. Thanks for the response

The ending wasn't perfect (pacing was all over the place) but overall the ending was fine. Manga fans are just way too critical of things nowadays, possibly due to fallout of AOT's ending a few years ago.

The pacing was dogshit, couldve been better if they showed season passing and the oshi no ko characters doing their own thing I between those panels. The ending felt too fast as if no time had passed Aqua couldve found other ways to kill hikaru but maybe because it was crunch time and he was on a time limit he couldnt wait? I dont know but I still feel like he had apt time instead of something like this. Think about it tho, he died for ruby's sake, but because of that kana, akane have unfinished business with aqua and ruby has basically a mental illness because of that which might emerge and backfire in the future. It was also never confirmed that anyone other than akane knows that he suicided, so it would make more sense for ruby to feel more anger and hatred than wanting to lie about her feelings. Another thing is that just before aqua died, he wanted to live which kinda makes it like less romantic per se because he always wanted to die. Imo this story holds an extremely special place in my heart as its the first piece of fiction to make me cry and bawl out. I personally LOVED the characters as they had great character development. I especially dislike the going full circle thing back to ai because even after a decade and a half there wasnt an improvement. Wouldve been better if ruby could be a great idol with the truth and break ing free of the curse of idols having to lie. I personally accept the ending for what it is but I still dislike it as a whole and hope the anime wil make the sense of time be more dragged out. Best case scenario they change the ending Completely because this is just unsatisfactory. (fine if they dont) But one last thing is that aqua and ruby DESERVED a better life living out their dreams as they had it really rough for 2 lives straight.... Ruby having a mental illness while aqua being dead is such a sad ending. Especially when ruby has to live life alone and constantly reminding her self of them.... Also the way the manga was written was like a half tragedy as it felt like sad one panel then happy the next which kinda tripped a lot of us up and we were left to decide for ourselves whether the characters were truly happy or not. Since We as READERS dont have power in Terms of the story, an open ended ending means that million of people would be in the drivers seat trying to determine a head canon to follow. This only leads to divide and no conclusive conclusion. Valid take thoujh but I respectfully half agree/dis agree. The ending couldve been 10x better❤
