This song is about how he'll never be with his friends like this ever again as he is moving and so is everyone else. The other side here basically is adulthood, they were on the road between the adulthood and childhood together but will never again be so it's a bittersweet song about how he never realised it's going to be over so soon. He hopes that everyone becomes very successful in which every career they pursue. White fences might mean a big house which mean rich, successful or basically get what ever they worked hard for and finally someday meet again on the other side when everyone has settled and happy and also wishes that they always treasure the moments, the laughs they had till the day they die :) This was my interpretation, yours might be diffrent :)

Just wanted to say this I only discovered Conan about 2 months ago, but he really changed the way I see life, and my motivation. He's such a kind and generous person, but his advice is also amazing. I could just listen hours to him talking. Besides, his music is incredible. I've been through way too much rough times in my life already, and seeing someone that also had a rough time when he was younger pursuing his dreams just gives me motivation to make something from my life. You know a few months ago I was at a really low place, but I've been improving and I'm starting to feel better everyday. Now I'm seeing this precious little Texan bean on the 12th of may, and I just can't wait. I love you Conan, and thank you for everything. This year is almost over. Only one year more and we'll be done with out A'levels. And then, our lives will be split so differently. There's no knowing how many of us will go and how many will stay, and who'll still have whom in their lives. I don't want to lose anyone and God knows I'll miss everything if I leave, and regret missing out on so much more. We hardly think about growing up when we don't have to worry about leaving anyone or anything behind and when we know we will be seeing our ftiends in a month or two, no big deal. Growing up now feels hurtful and nostalgic, because there's just so much to lose. I will keep coming back to this song, and one of these days when I do, I'll be listening to this the night before I leave for wherever it is that I'll go. I hope all our homes have white fences.
