When I came home on leave from Army Basic Training in August of 1987, I jumped in my car and turned on the local FM station in North Carolina. The first song I heard was "Back in the High Life Again" by Steve Winwood. Then I heard, "This is the new one from The Outfield. It's called 'Since You've Been Gone!' "

John Spinks on guitar - crisp, deft, understated and tasteful. You can feel their great breakout energy here.

My girlfriend (now wife) and I were at this concert. It was at The Yellow Rose on the West side of Corpus Christi... I don't remember the sound quality being this good! That was fantastic, thanks for bringing this memory back... Cheers!

@s b Sorry, I don't. You can youtube the Tyler Texas show. It has some good audio and contains "Turn and Run" which eventually became "Winning it All". And yes, this show was big time awesome!!! Take care and keep Bangin'

Unfortunately the full recording hasn't been released to the public yet and might never be, I really hope they eventually release it as a live album or something.

Love this live version, very clean, the quality is amazing. Are there any live stuff back in the 80s from their Voices of Bablyon album? I love that album actually.

2 shows from the Voices Of Babylon tour were taped from the audience however only 3 songs from one of these shows have surfaced. I have contacted the taper of one of these shows asking for a copy of the entire set, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet. Here's 'Since You've Been Gone' from the 1989 performance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aX6raotqirSifLc

I’d love to hear the V.O.B. Stuff live. I was at the the show in Aug ‘89 in St. Louis.

Why do pics of them always show them as a trio but they have a 2nd guitar player and also a keyboard player?
@RosefieldMusic2 жыл бұрын
From 1985-87 they had Reg Webb on keyboards and Grahame Leslie on guitar. Starting with the Voices Of Babylon tour they were always a trio except for a few guest appearances at some shows.

I saw them open for Journey during their Raised on the Radio tour on September 13 1986 in Seattle. They were a trio at that point and the sound was definitely missing in there live performance. It was kind of disappointing as it was (and still is) one of my all time favorite albums.
