The Outsiders on Broadway: First Footage of the New Musical

ased on the S.E. Hinton young adult novel about a circle of working-class Tulsa “greasers” and their encounters with the bourgeois “socs” of the south side, The Outsiders is currently in previews at Broadway’s Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Opening night is set for April 11.
The show features new music by Jamestown Revival (Jonathan Clay & Zach Chance) and Justin Levine, Tony Award winner for the orchestrations of Moulin Rouge!
The Outsiders cast is led by Brody Grant as Ponyboy Curtis, Sky Lakota-Lynch as Johnny Cade, Joshua Boone as Dallas Winston, Brent Comer as Darrel Curtis, Jason Schmidt as Sodapop Curtis, Emma Pittman as Cherry Valance, Daryl Tofa as Two-Bit, Kevin William Paul as Bob and Dan Berry as Paul. The company also includes Jordan Chin, Milena J. Comeau, Barton Cowperthwaite, Tilly Evans-Krueger, Henry Julián Gendron, RJ Higton, Wonza Johnson, Sean Harrison Jones, Maggie Kuntz, Renni Anthony Magee, SarahGrace Mariani, Melody Rose, Josh Strobl, Victor Carrillo Tracey, Trevor Wayne.

Hi like the outsiders but there is one thing I Don't like is. If they are greasers. They should look like greasers. Not regular guys in their outfits with out. Grease up their hair they should look like Elvis Presley he is a greaser from the 50s but I know the book came out in 1960s later on they had 83 film and years 20 added scenes in movie. In 90 they had tv show called the outsiders years later. They came out with the outsiders. Play and. Musical

Just based on the Tony's and this demo, I won't be going. Looks like yet another violent excuse for rock songs that are all loud and high. Yes, the dancing is exciting, and probably dangerous to the dancers, but when all is said and done, will this be around in 50 years? in 10? Too expensive to watch something I grew up with in the 60s. Class wars. So what's new about that?

Great musical. One of the best I've ever seen. A new way of storytelling that blew my mind. Loved these parts. They gave the story a more intense impact. I wish I didn't live so far away; otherwise, I would watch it again right away. I just hope there will be a recording someday :-)
