The school is somehow worse -knew the kid was troubled -Had kids who are aware of his threats to social media -had drew guns -Publically said the thoughts in his head -and was even caught searching up ammunition on his phone The school: Nothing.
@coolkagethe4th
@coolkagethe4th 2 жыл бұрын
Apparently the school called the parents in for a meeting and basically said you need to get the kid help before he can return but ultimately let him go back to class because "there was no present threat at the time." The school official who let him back to class should be charged as well if the parents are being charged since they could have stopped it.

How about we blame it on how the school was aware of the threats yet did nothing. I love how schools only get involved with things they want to. I remember yelling at someone in the hallway when I was in high school because they were getting on my nerves, and I was given 1 week of in school suspension...for yelling at someone! A kid brought a lighter to my school and was lighting it at random people in the hallway, the school knew about it, did nothing. I kid you not, someone allegedly brought a gun onto my school campus, the administration tried to downplay it, and count people absent who chose not to attend school the following day. The school administrators are just as sick as the active shooters in my opinion.

The sad thing is that they only mentioned the Christmas Parade massacre in Wisconsin once or twice when it was found that the media was responsible for the driver's intention. It hurts even more by calling it an "accident" or "car crash" saying the driver was fleeing from police when there was eyewitnesses saying the driver was idle in his car then revved up and drove in... Man I'm just sick of how the media portrays these situations to get blood of these hands...

Nah, Kira was always messed up My name is Yoshikage Kira. I’m 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don’t smoke, but I occasionally drink. I’m in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I’m trying to explain that I’m a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn’t lose to anyone.

Bruh. Why haven't any parent sit with their child when the kid is what game are he/she playing? But what the parent do? They dont sit by them. When kids hide their parents they dont want to show them what they playing. Then someday, A kid behavior will change their live. One day this is ever happen and you hear the news type of shooting of kids or teens? Then who is responsible for this to happen. Dont blame the games? Blame the kid and the parents.

I would like to say this, 100s of mass shootings per year. Most are gang violence because the definition of a mass shooting is 3+ victims and most are gang violence. When an actual mass shooting does happen though the media makes it seem like it’s an everyday thing that happens everywhere you walk. Most of the time shooting do happen there are things that are posted beforehand and they could be prevented.

If the parents are to be charged for involuntary manslaughter for buying the weapon used, then the school *must also be charged* for facilitating an environment that creates kids like this. Even the nicest most normal kid can become a monster if you're pushed hard enough. Bullying is an infinitely bigger issue then the video games.

It's appalling indeed, this whole situation: 1 - They exploit a tragedy, juicing it for views til it goes dry. 2 - They make the shooter, the very person who took several lives and thraumatized even more kids (probably even adults), seem like a figure who's been pushed into this, almost to the point of portraying him as heroic and sane, as if being bullied justified putting bullets in people's heads. 3 - They blatantly skip over the fact every figure (except the school) didn't see anything wrong with a kid searching for ammo, especially mid-class. 4 - They refuse to blame the people who are to blame, recurring for the billionth time to publicly blame videogames, when literally any article that isn't to give traction to disproven ideas clarifies how (at most) a child can feel temporarily distressed over contents unfit for their age. Ofc, most people believe that and in turn go as far as oppressing gamers, especially children (I know too well how parents have gone as far as entirely prohibiting videogames due to these flawed beliefs, and this happens in european countries where there isn't nearly as much school violence, too, and even adults have been pestered quite often because they play videogames). TLDR: The news beat around the bushes, don't address the issue, refuse to put the blame on people, organisms, or laws that don't work, and encourage dumping the mess on what many of us young people have grown up with and currently enjoy as a hobby (videogames), causing everyone who doesn't understand videogames don't cause violence to actively interfere with that hobby, especially if you're under 18. P.S.: They also miss on the fact videogames are age rated for a good reason, which is so parents buy games fit for their children! I mean, I've seen how ESRB (which I believe still functions in the US iirc) rates games, and their work is great at the rating games recieve, being pretty concise and all. I don't know if content pictograms (such as Fear, Discrimination, or Substance usage) are used like PEGI does, but the age pictograms are very well done, to the point even a drooling imbecile should tell which game is fit for which age. These problems could have all been wiped off the board over a decade ago, but parents still seem unable to learn you don't buy an M/AO game to a ten year old if you feel concerned about their mental health. Oh, and no offence, but I tried to reason with these people all throughout my life, doing many different approaches, and they cling to their argument as if it was a lifeline, bet they wouldn't drop it even if it was a red-hot iron bar cause they're some really stubborn knuckleheads, even with their children. TLDR 2: Electric Derpaloo: If you see an inappropiate age rating for your kid, don't buy the game and don't whine if you do and it looks too violent.

Mark Foster, the front man of Foster the People, said something really good about this issue when talking about their song, Pumped Up Kicks. This is taken from the Wikipedia page for the song: "Foster said in a statement to CNN Entertainment, 'I wrote 'Pumped Up Kicks' when I began to read about the growing trend in teenage mental illness. I wanted to understand the psychology behind it because it was foreign to me. It was terrifying how mental illness among youth had skyrocketed in the last decade. I was scared to see where the pattern was headed if we didn't start changing the way we were bringing up the next generation.' In writing the song, Foster wanted to 'get inside the head of an isolated, psychotic kid' and 'bring awareness' to the issue of gun violence among youth, which he feels is an epidemic perpetuated by 'lack of family, lack of love, and isolation.' " My respect towards him skyrocketed when I heard this.

When I was in high school, we had so many shooting in bomb threats. Combined, probably about 11 throughout 4 years. I genuinely surprised and glad it never happened. Not even the teachers were taken care of properly. As a loner through most of high school, I’d say I turned out pretty good. Unfortunately, bad things just happen. This whole Oxford thing could’ve and should’ve been prevented.

I called BS on that Inside Edition story the second I heard it. Ok here we go: 1.)This was a (possibly) disturbed and (possibly) bullied individual who did not get the help he needed. 2.)His parents should have seen the signs and got him the help he needed. 3.) His parents bought their 15 YEAR OLD SON a gun. Listen very closely: VIDEO GAMES DO NOT CAUSE VIOLENCE.

I could understand buying like a 16 year old kid a rifle for hunting, but it would need to be locked away and such. A handgun isn’t for hunting so why did they get him it

@@sethgrubb926 It actually was locked away. He broke into his father's room to get it. I believe they got it only so that he could have some basic firearm experience, but he wanted it for much more sinister reasons than they thought.

Schools and parents always say they are there for you But deny everything you go through It's just a phase Boys will be boys You'll be fine And yet blame it on video games

i love how optimus doesn't describe the shooter like the official "news" does. on tv these shooters are treated like celebrities when it comes to info

Oh yeah, let's ignore bullying by faculty, staff and fellow students who are beating the person down emotionally, physically and mentally, harassing them for superficial reasons, because the bullies buys into collective punishment for said reasons, maybe bullying for political reasons and condemning for them, some are complacent of the bullying. There's no excuse for what the person did, but the motivation behind it were anything besides video games... should look at other things prior to what happened other than gaming, like bullying and harassment, and others doing nothing behind it, again, no excuse, but there were ways to intervene prior. If it was video games, then the world would had destroy it long before now with nearly billions of gamers there are. I'm sure there were tragic events like this before games that were blamed on movies. Edit: let's not forget bad parenting.

Any member of faculty or staff should be fired and banned from work in education if they helped facilitate the bullies or participated, because they clearly are not suited for teaching anyone. Failing to provide support for victims of bullying is probably one of the leading causes of horrific events like this and it could have been prevented if the kid got the help he so desperately needed. But I guess shifting the blame to Call of Duty and GTA seems more convenient than putting in work to make sure these things don't happen as often as they do.

As someone who lives in the area this affected, other schools were closed and other people were scared. My school and some others in the district received fake threats from a man in Kentucky. Video games are not the reason. I play video games a lot and I personally don't see the problem. Its just news media trying to cover something that is false just for the sake of covering it.

This stuff is the biggest slap in the face to mental health instead of watching out for their children they decide to find false things to blame instead of working toward a solution
