Fun fact about the vampire codec call: Big Boss says that whenever someone talks about vampires, he dreams about them. In the original release of the game, when he sleeps he has a nightmare which is a demo to a completely different game that never got released which is an action game where you play as a vampire. It was only in that original PS2 version of the game though.

It's not a big deal but the shotgun does work against the pain, it just takes a few consecutive hits. You can also shotgun the bees that carry his grenades to make them drop it near him and damage him with his own grenade : )

He's just some old dude with powers. And why not the pain or the fury? why would it be specifically The End that she is loyal to out of all the members in the cobra unit that seemingly all are very similar to each other.

She has a special connection to The Sorrow after all, why is it so crazy to think, as someone who is playing for the first time and knows nothing of the story and its characters yet, she would have a special connection to The End? I thought maybe she was doing all this _for_ someone, and that someone might've been The End. It could've gone so many different ways. That's the beauty of first playthroughs and theorycrafting as you go. Sometimes you get it wrong, sometimes you get it right! Might seem obvious for you, who I'm sure has played the game countless times. It's definitely not obvious for a first timer.

That codec call with Para Medic talking about DNA is such a tell that the reveal in MGS4 was planned out well ahead of time. She tries to play it off as "theoretical" but she's clearly sizing you up and while paying lip service to "ethical grounds" only because snake is reticent, if you read between the lines she's clearly already made up her mind on trying it out. Many have complained that Paramedic being revealed as a "Villian" came out of nowhere but the reveal is completly consistent with MGS's morally grey antagonists, Clarke while goofy and warm here, is implied to have an amoral side that just does things "to see if they can be done" which is exactly what otacon laments to Naomi in MGS4. If anything Paramedic/Clark are to Naomi what Big Boss is to Snake, an example of a wayward past generation that they get to attempt to course correct.

You may not have noticed this but when you save and come back to that part in the pitch black cave or wait 15 minutes, the brightness increases slightly because your characters eyes adjust to the dark. I kinda noticed it as a kid when I played it and found out recently it’s an actual mechanic in the game.

As you leave the codec and the game resumes, a guard walks up and pushes the wheelchair with The End sitting in it back into the building, giving you a small window of time to assassinate him with your SVD Sniper Rifle. Of course you wouldn't have the SVD if you didn't go to the optional area first. So players who don't explore like you do would never be able to do it. Players who do assassinate The End here instead fight the members of the Ocelot unit in the black uniforms again in the three areas where The End boss fight would've been. Kojima thinks of everything!

If the End was still there and you take a shot at him after the cutscene, 1 out of 2 outcomes would occur. Either you won't face him in his own fight at all or a cutscene plays where he gets a little payback on you.

Also, its a very comon strategy on Metal gear games to let yourself die to get rid of the alert mode. I think that the one thing important to remember from the different Boss interaction is that she explicitely said to Snake that the only thing that matters is the mission. To be ''loyal to the end'' means to be loyal to the mission no matter the cost, who's friends and foes, until you succeed or die trying. That's what she means when she told him that she is ''loyal to the end''. It has nothing to do with ''THE END''.

But here, I found it interesting how they really made a point of it in the dialogue, didn't they even write it like ''I am loyal to 'the end' " with the quotes and everything? 2:25:00 - Whimsy just so you know this, you cannot perform CQC while wearing the Scientist uniform. Best you also do not wear the Raiden face mask as well, because the guards will get suspecious. And yes the Scientist in the labs are also a nuisance, and immediately alert the whole complex due to not recognizing you. Best knock'em out with the Cig-Gas Spray, and fool 'em while wearing the cardboard box. Just becareful not to bump into any of them, or let the guards see a "moving box" lol

Since you've already played the head, it's o k to tell you. You could of actually shot the End right after that cuts scene when he's weeled out by shooting him with a sniper rifle and avoid having to deal with him later.😅 You have to do it before the soldiers come back and take him away. It's actually good that you didn't try it though. Because his boss battle is one of the best in the whole series. Kojima has several ways you can defeat characters in this game If you think outside the box but I won't spoil anything yet

I love your vidéos! The scientist uniform works into the Lab building indeed, Eva told you. And it works into the whole building. Obviously if you go into alert mode in front of them, they are going to be alerted until the alert mode ends. You would have had an easier time if you had put it on as soon as you entered the building. I hope you didn't get too annoyed by this section and after that in the forest. Please don't worry to much about getting spotted too often, nobody minds here.

I have to imagine somewhere in the comments somebody told you that you could've used the cig spray to incapacitate scientists and guardsman; you get close to them with your disguise, then use the cig spray to quietly and covertly knock them out so that they can't get a good look at you and thus recognize that you aren't a fellow scientist.

Did you know that if you killed The End earlier at 1:20:58 then you won't have to kill him in the forest. You can kill him by using a sniper gun ☺️ you can find it somewhere before getting on that location

I am not an native english speaker, but I try my best now 😂 1. Don't know, if you know, but you can lean left and right while aiming by pressing L2/R2 or up when holding both. 2. If you catch a poisonous animal alive and throw them at people, ... you know the rest. 3. CQC is not that hard, as you thought in the previous episode. If you're holding someone and switch to aiming, you don't have to press circle any longer. Btw. try to aim at enemies at close behind them. 4. Try some more CQC, may use the Masterbook in the mainscreen, i think there are the controls or even videos, to show what you can do. 5. When you tranquilize the bosses, you get there uniform 6. Try to blow up some storage rooms with food or weapons in it. It will effect the game...

Havent watched this part yet but i have enjoyed every other part of this series. It brings me back to my childhood watching you play for the first time. @@WhimsyPsyche hell yeahhh!! Then here's a couple of early tips for mgs4 no spoilers at all. Just things I know you'd like to know . You can pause the cutscenes in mgs4. Assuming you're playing on a PS3, you can reset your camo by shaking the DualShock controller without going to any menu!

Whimsy! Is the last part filmed already? If not please consider watching in the end the secret theatre! After you finish the game it might be unlocked for you in the main menu (there are some requirements) but if not you can find it on KZbin. You're gonna love it.

I think you pressed R3, the joystick button, that switched the camera mode on the original game on PS2. When pressing R3 again you can move the camera freely like you did since the beginning of your playthrough

Skipping the cutscene here u can kill The End with sniper. So u wont boss fight him after The Fear.😁

I really love this playthrough, but I can't help but feel like you're sometimes making this unnecessarily hard on yourself by trying to take out every guard in the area. You can move pretty much freely around in the lab building when you're disguised as a scientist. That way you can go pretty much anywhere without getting bothered by the guards, but for some reason you try to fight them instead and I wonder why? 🤔
