A song so full of teenage passion that Scott got lucky enough with a fiddler to raise it, Pagan, bang on ear. Why do some think all is timeless but that is a 50year old man singing about the raging minds and lusts of exploration. Your coat is made of magic and around the table angels play.

Seen them 86 Barrowlands in my home town - They opened with a storming Don’t bang the drum … honestly, I’m not a pretentious bsr … my head was swirling with joy … the whole night was like that - I was high for months and months off that experience, it was the gig of my life, I’m 64 and have seen all the “greats” … nothing comes close to that night in Glasgow 🏴🇺🇦

A great live performance of one of my favourite Waterboys songs. Steve Wickham is just incredible. Was lucky enough to see them live a few years ago on the Yeats tour and enjoyed every second of it, plus got to meet Mike Scott afterwards who was really nice.
