The guy can play but it appears he is toxic. They improved their 6th round pick to a late 5th rounder that they will give to some team to move up somewhere in the draft. They have a lot of needs.

As a Panthers fan I don’t feel great about what we got back in the trade. But at the same time we have 2 rookie WRs who look like they’re going to be good. As it stands now they look like they hit on most of their draft picks but they just need to develop. Johnson wasn’t coming back here anyway and we don’t have the cap space to overpay him. Especially when we have to fix our defense. So we basically got something for nothing because keeping him does nothing for the future of this team.

As a Ravens fan, I have mixed feelings about acquiring Diontae Johnson. EDC proves his wizardry once again, but I feel we need to focus on the defensive side of the ball for a deep playoff run. Everyone is quick to jump on Bateman and Flowers for their drops that cost us the game against the Browns, but don't even the best of the best WRs have their dropped ball moments too? I get it, we lost to a division rival, but it was our secondary that was made to look like burned toast, especially without Humphrey. Plus. you know Yinzer Steelers fans are going to be very smug about this trade, especially if Johnson ends up being a non-factor. I know someone is itching to hurl a "sloppy seconds" insult our way.
