Must be tough for trained boxers going through p company to not slip punches when milling. Would be second nature for them.

Yeah. Kind of a weird exercise imo. Any decent boxer would slip and immediately counter, but this basically takes away the whole aspect of using your head in a heated moment.

They actually tell the amateur boxers this exact same thing. It's not about slipping etc, you're supposed to eat the punched and hit back, as you say it's a hard task for anyone who's done boxing/martial arts etc, but it's a demonstration of toughness and not skill.

To be fair, while milling looks very fun and useful for training to win a street fight, the fear of being hit the face is nowhere near the fear of being shot in the face...

My Dad was a Para and they did. mlling without the head gear. He passed away recently and I never stopped being proud of him! What Manner Of Men Are These That Wear The Maroon Beret? They are firstly all volunteers and are toughened by physical training. As a result they have infectious optimism and that offensive eagerness which comes from well-being. They have 'jumped' from the air and by doing so have conquered fear. Their duty lies in the van of the battle. They are proud of this honour. They have the highest standards in all things whether it be skill in battle or smartness in the execution of all peace time duties. They are in fact - men apart - every man an emperor. Of all the factors, which make for success in battle, the spirit of the warrior is the most decisive. That spirit will be found in full measure in the men who wear the maroon beret Bernard Montgomery
