I wish you guys could feel what this conversation did to my soul. Not only did you share incredible insights, but this give me such a sense of peace because I don’t feel as alone in my fight. When you are going on a healing journey, at least for me, loneliness is a big proponent of pain and shame. Knowing there there are other people out there who have had such similar experiences and healing journeys/transformations gives me all the hope I was missing today. Thank you both ❤️

I'm doing my Doctorate in clinical psychology and I'm thinking how much I would love to experience a more holistic approach within the content of the curriculum. This is a master piece ! I've listened to this podcast twice so far! Love it!

Man, it really hit home at 35:30...it's what is so so hard about Trauma and why we must join together to reduce those lengths of suffering and lack of safety. If I had both the knowledge/understanding of complex trauma, and resources in my 20's or 30's, my life would have looked so so different at 46, than it does currently. While I am okay, healing and growing now, so many don't get so lucky. Thanks for raising awareness and doing what you're both doing🙌🏼🙌🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🧡🧡💫💫

You had me at ‘my ability to be vulnerable, is my true strength!’. I too have a dark tale to tell, but I don’t know where to begin! I have increasingly felt a calling to share my journey, but I am afraid! Thank you for inspiring me to at least consider sharing my story! Namaste 🙏❤️

Eventually u realize that the person saying those things…is not right in the head anyways and you cant value there opinions about you, or even entertain the awful things they say. Its a reflection of how hurt they are from childhood or past traumas and sometimes theres peoole who are just so abusive, unhinged. Youve got to understand that you are the light, awful mean things are darkness….and even then it still hurts sometimes because its not in your nature.

Thank you so much for this answer. I had to move back to my mums house due to covid, its been two years. She is is toxic and i only realized it few months ago while going to therapy. Always thought my dad was the cause of all my traumas. I cant stand her. The way she talks, comparing me, always making me feel down about everything, always negative, judging, always playing the victim and so on. She even said that she prefers when im down because i spend more time with her. Only a few weeks left and ill be able to have my own place again (im almost 40) i needed to read that i am right, i dont have to feel guilty everytime she opens her mouth. I am right, i am the light, im doing the one doing the work. I can make it!!! We can make it 💙💙💙💙💙💙 its so hard because its a parent, its so hard because you constantly have to be able to forgive because she keeps hurting me all the time. I feel like i just cant stand her energy anymore. She uses guilt, manipulation, silence etc. If you guys have tips, things that were helpful to you, please share. Thanks a lot, 💙 from france

I feel like it was not authentic of her to be a spiritual teacher when it sounds like she was aware she was a mess (workaholic, flying off the handle, control issues, suffering, etc.) . So happy she got the help she needs, but I feel a certain type of way at how she was a spiritual teacher with all those issues for years and years, speaking, writing books, etc. and how there are too many unhealed people writing books, speaking to others (almost preaching) and they have lots of issues themselves and it is hurtful as people follow what they say and end up spiritually bypassing themselves and not dealing with underlying trauma.

I feel she still is almost in teacher mode about IFS, reciting all the IFS stuff (I have heard it all before) instead of embodiment. I do not feel that she is really rooted in her authentic self yet and should keep living and healing and maybe wait on monetizing her healing with yet another book. I really get hustler vibes from her sadly, now she is selling trauma healing instead of spirituality. I love the message but distrust this messenger.

That can be said for most of the therapists / healers out there. Anywhere from 70 - 90 % of therapists are or have been in therapy. How many dietitians / eating disorder clinicians have had their own eating disorders or AA leaders are former alcoholics or addicts. I realize your comment was directed to Gabby, but I believe it would be extremely rare to find a therapist/ healer who has fully dealt with themselves. Healing is never completely 100%

If we were all in the same place, we would only have/need one teacher...amazing how much effort in passing judgement there is here...Appreciate she is offering her experiences (in her book) to those who are in the place to receive it. Anyhoo...go Gabby for sharing what feels authentic on your path and to whoever resonates with it and gets healing/information. 💜

@@KS-ku5tq yes I agree. But key word…dealt with. She admits she was in the thick of it while projecting and writing books and claiming to be someone who is healed. That is the whole purpose of her work. I liked her I truly did but I think it’s perfectly fine to hold people to a standard, especially if they are making millions off of it.
