Thank you. My mother was the most selfless person I have known. She has spent the better part of the last 13 years bed ridden with major depression because she was last on her own list of people to care for.

I have seen a few of your videos on Facebook and really enjoyed them. You validate the feelings parenthood brings up and then digest then and chose how you will act. Love them!!!

This was amazing. I am trying all these parenting skills while staying at home with our one year old child. I gearing up to start doing more of what I love so I am not doing this selflessly because it is not serving anyone. How do we ensure the caregivers are following these new methods while we are out doing the things we love?

Wow! around 43 minutes as a teacher I can comment here and confirm that sooooooo many parents today receive a factual report of their kid’s decision, behavior, etc. as a personal attack on themselves. It exacerbates the issue in the classroom and does not help the student or the teacher when parents make it about them. For this reason, teachers have had more success when handling the situation directly with the student and not including the parent in the communication - which is just honestly sad and perpetuates the idea that teachers are the parents for this generation. It also is not the teachers place to be the parent. Roles! Similarly, I’ve found that too many parents when sitting with a teacher are not able to truly focus on the present year and what can be done to help their child now, they spend more energy brainstorming about their child’s future and blaming previous years for present circumstances. As a teacher, I hope more parents learn to be confident in themselves and in their kid’s ability to survive a downfall, a failure, an obstacle. That way when an issue does arise it can be addressed in the present moment without fear of an unknowable future.

Those who don't have children should never say how to raise actual children... not sorry As a tail end GenX'er who is part of the feral generation that raised ourselves. Start with treating your child how you want to be treated. Admit when wrong, why, and BOTH learn. Don't be their best friend, they need a parent. While keeping in mind they need a safe place to fail, and bounce higher after. Doubt millennials are who I'd go to since it makes no sense. Results speak volumes. And going to someone still raising kids, or has no kids... it's like asking someone that is on public aid how to become rich. Not bashing this cast. Just, looking through lense of "common sense". And I'm aware of looking at other's mistakes to learn. Not discounting that. But... this is a cast to sell a book through who is currently popular 🤷♀️

And are they fully functioning adults that prove end results... I won't ask someone on public aid how to get billions. I'm sure the metaphor isn't hard to miss... Mist books I read concerning children I could Google how their children turned out. Results matter... the only ones I bypassed were spanking nonsense. I watched how peers learned to be better liars thanks to spanking. So, while raising mine... we had a policy of honesty. Now teens, and we're doing damn good. Never spanked

GenX parent of an 18yo and a 16yo, and I can’t tell you how much I have learned from Dr. Becky and wish she had been around when I was a new parent. I don’t see why I can only look at the generation who raised me to learn how to do it better. And, honestly, if you listen to how Dr. Becky compares how she would want her husband to treat her to how she tries to treat her kids, it really is a version of treat as you want to be treated. She just has a way of making it all so clear. I hope you’ll give her work some more time. I follow both Dr. Nicole and Dr. Becky on instagram, and they both create a ton of really wonderful content nearly every day.

I really dont understand what could be considered profound about the woman. Treat your children as if they were adult human beings? I love my child and believe its my job to raise them to be good and not behave badly.
