The team was 4-13 last year. The talent on the roster was terrible and we had 2 crappy QB’s. This year is really the start of the rebuild. We lost 4 starters on defense to trade, injury or suspension. We are starting a rookie QB and had a tough schedule. What exactly was everyone’s expectations?!!? If Maye continues to improve, then we have the biggest peice. Plus, if we have the 1st pick, there is flexibility to trade down if all we need is a lineman or WR.

There were red flags with mayo from the beginning. Reports of him saying he doesn't have to listen to bill because he's going to be the coach. There were better options with experience and a legend in New England who was proven as a coach in Vrabel. But Kraft went with the DEI hire and we all know this. Mayo's hiring speech said nothing about team direction, what he'll bring. Instead, we got the victim speech on being black. Good luck trying to fire him because it won't be for underperforming. Simple timeline of facts. They weren't blowing anyone's doors off but they were in 3/4 games before they made the QB swap. Now you take out the one consistent experienced player in the lineup and the offense can't stay on the field to the tune of a tired defense getting walked on. Maye is legitimate. A boost at OL, WR, and RB and he could be very special and elevate the whole team. Mayo never looked like he's had a handle but I suspect Kraft's have promised him a stretch of time ie at least the start of next season. They should land the #1 pick, trade back for a bucket of 1sts, take the best avail OL, then use their picks to trade up for a stud WR prospect. Then maybe even target a RB in 3 or 4, which is high end these days. Then go on a spree in FA. They are in the gutter but they could bounce back fast with a stellar off season. This season and the organization is lost no doubt as evidenced by likely back to back seasons of top 3 picks and no end in sight...but with Maye the franchise stands a chance in years ahead, as evidenced by teams who got a legit guy and spiked.

I get that this is a rebuild season but this isn’t how you start. Zero direction, zero accountability, zero discipline. I think Elliot and Mayo did right by bringing back the solid core pieces. After that everything is a shit show. They didn’t do right by surrounding Mayo with experienced coaches. No key pieces/ OL help in free agency= ZERO depth. No solid season goals. no one deserves to coach in the NFL, especially if their team has imploded. coaching in the NFL is hardball, whether Mayo ( or Kraft) likes it or not. Kraft has the franchise QB many teams would drool over, yet it appears to be about just Money and Ego. Jonathon Kraft needs to tell daddy what he needs to do.😮 it would be a crime to waste such a talent as Drake Maye.

So the guy who hired Matt Patricia and Joe Judge to run the offense for a year two quarterback didn't deserve to be fired? And he didn't even get fired for that getting one more year after where things got even worse. His time was done here and his ego/nepotism was clearly getting in the way of what's best for the team.
